Hi I'm Phylicia Rae.

I'm a proud Texan. I love having fun, laughing, learning new things & I'm definitely a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of Dallas, TX and anyone who knows me knows I'm proud to be a Texan. I love to have fun and laugh. I dont believe in dull moments. Any moment of the day I can do something meaningful, useful and fun all at the same time... I'M IN!! I just love and appreciate life. Fashion is my passion! I want to one day own my own clothing store of modest, fashionable apparel and REINVENT the entire image of the fashion industry.

Why I am a Mormon

Almost three years ago while vacationing in San Diego I met a young man on an airplane ride who would later change my entire life. On the plane ride we talked for 2 1/2 hours about God and our purpose in life. I noticed that he had so much more to add on to everything I said and he just glowed. When he told me he was Mormon I had no idea what that was but I knew I wanted to learn more. At the end of the plane ride we exchanged contact information and the following week I began to meet with the Mormon Missionaries. I began reading The Book of Mormon, which brought a new light and understanding to my life. I knew that it was true. They taught me many things all of which have blessed my life and helped me grow. My life has been changed since that day on the plane. Two months after that plane ride, the young man I met, Daniel, baptized me into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. .

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply trying my very best to live all the principles of the Gospel that we learn every Sunday at church and everyday from the scriptures. It's not always easy but the blessings of it are tremendous. I live my faith by always trying to be uplifting and an example to others around me. There are many different groups in the church based on age group and interest. I try to participate in speaking to the youth or in congregations when asked. I know that everyone comes from different walks of life and all of our testimonies are needed to help one another. After I was baptized I served a mission and was able to do service everyday and also help others learn about Jesus Christ and His true Gospel, or in other words His teachings. It was phenomenal. When you live what you believe others see it. I know because I saw it with my friend Daniel on the plane and hope to be the same example for others that he was and has been to me.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Phylicia Rae.
I absolutely love this question!! As Mormons we do not worship Joseph Smith at all. We worship God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. However we are indeed thankful for the sacrifice of Joseph Smith. After seing God the Father and Jesus Christ Joseph Smith was called as a prophet of God and went through a lot to bring back the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. He, like many of the prophets endured many afflictions and persecutuions because of the things he saw and the things he taught because of it. We as Mormons are thankful for his sacrifice but understand he was a tool in bringing the true and living Church of Jesus Christ back to the earth. But God, our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Chirst stand at the head of this Church because it is Their church.  Show more Show less
