Hi I'm Sarah

I am a mom, a wife, a nurse, I LOVE life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Utah and just recently became a first time mom!! I love my son, and I can't imagine anything better than being his mom. I am also a school nurse at a special education school. It is such a special and rewarding job. I also love love love running, basketball, playing games, listening to music, playing the piano, being outside, painting my nails, spending time with my family, traveling, hiking, camping, and the Olympics!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into the church, but through fervent prayer and living the principles of the church, I have gained my own testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their plan for us.   I know that Jesus Christ came to Earth to give us a perfect example of how to live life and to take upon himself the sins and pains of every person that ever has or ever will come to this Earth. It is comforting to know that because He took upon him the sins and pains of the world--the sins and pains of me--that I will never be alone because He knows exactly how I feel. It is also comforting to know that He will always be there for me as long as I allow Him into my life. As a member of this church, I know that my life here on Earth is not the end of my existence. I know that through our Father in Heaven's plan, I can one day return to live with Him again and that I will be with my family again after this life. I can't even imagine where I would be without the church--it means everything to me--and I know that I am a better person because I am a member.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by trying to be a better person each day than I was the day before. This desire is strengthened by regularly atttending my church meetings and through studying the principles taught in The Book of Mormon, Bible, and by Latter-day prophets. I also try to find opportunities to serve the people and the community around me.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Just like the Old and New Testaments, the Book of Mormon is a collection of writings of ancient prophets testifying of Christ. The prophets of the Book of Mormon were those living in the Americas before and after the Saviors misnistry on this Earth. Just like the prophets found in the Old and New Testaments, the prophets whose writings are found in this book were also called of God to spread His gospel and love. Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Before our life here on Earth, there was a war in Heaven regarding two plans that were presented to our Father in Heaven. One plan—presented by Satan—would force us to always choose the right in order to return to live with God once more. The other plan—presented by Jesus Christ—allowed us to choose for ourselves the path we would follow and the decisions we would make on this Earth, not guaranteeing that we would return to the presence of Heavenly Father. Both plans were very convincing and both arguments gained supporters. Though He knew we could not all return to live with Him, God chose Christ’s plan because He knew it was the only way we could progress enough to reach our full potential to become gods and goddesses like Himself. He knew that though it would be painful at times, Christ’s plan would bring us the most happiness. Because we are here on Earth, we can be reassured that we were also supporters of this great plan. By sending us to this Earth, our Father in Heaven knew that not all His children would make it back to Him because “no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God” Moses 6 57. He knew that we would sin and make mistakes, making us unworthy, but He did not send us here without hope of returning to His presence. Because He knew we would sin and because of His eternal love and mercy for us, He sacrificed His son Jesus Christ, making it possible for us to return to live with Him again. He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to descend below all things, being born of the Virgin Mary in a stable in Bethlehem. Though tempted, Christ remained sinless, setting the perfect example for us. At the end of his Earthly ministry, Christ took upon himself the pains, afflictions, and sins of every person to have ever or will ever live, causing such agonizing pain to make him bleed from every pore on his body. Not long after this atonement, he was taken into custody and crucified as a “sinner.” He was resurrected three days later. Because our Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for our sins, we can, through and only through him, become perfect and return to live with our Father in Heaven once more. “Though yours sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow”—Isaiah 1 18. Because Christ suffered everything that we have ever or will suffer, he knows exactly how we feel and can help us through times of trial and hardship. He can help us to reach our full potential. No sin or weakness is too great to overcome with the help of our Savior. All we need to do is turn to him--he is waiting for us with open arms. We cannot do it alone.   Show more Show less
