Morgan: Mormon.

Hi I'm Morgan

About Me

So you wanna know about me huh? well truthfully I am not a networking type of a person. I had a myspace in high school and then decided I needed to get out of my diapers and move on. te he. I have this profile with the hopes of shedding a little bit of light on my testimony of the Savior, and how I came to know him as my brother, Savior, and best friend. I was raised in the church by my most wonderful and dear parents. I am from a small town in Utah about a hour and a half south of Salt Lake City. I come from a family of 7 kids and I am the 3rd oldest. I am now serving a mission full time in the beautiful state of Wisconsin where I have learned how to say bag, tag, rag, flag, ect.. correctly? I love this place with all my heart. The people here are absolutely amazing and are very charitable, and I know that I am in this part of the Lords Vineyard for a reason. I love riding bikes, groovin' on tunes, lifting weights, and being with my family. I am now the uncle of 2 little chubs and so STOKED! about that. You can refer to me as "Uncle Mog"........but seriously.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter Day Saint because I know that in a world like we live in today that I can feel peace and joy in knowing that God loves me and has prepared a plan for me and for all of his children to return and live with him. The only way that we can fully access that plan is through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. It is the Lords Church and contains the same elements and authority as Christ' Church of old spoken of in the Bible. I know that is true because of the simple commandment of prayer. God answers my questions and will do the same for you. Nuff said

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I feel of Gods Love every time I read the Book of Mormon. If there was ever a time when I was not happy or felt "off", I would think about why that was, and almost every time it was because I was not reading the Book of Mormon or praying. The Book of Mormon brings me closer to God every time I read from it. It is a true book, and when read with a sincere heart with real intent applying yourself to the teachings therein, it will testify to you that God lives, Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, and that we have a living day prophet on the earth today. I know of no other book with that promise.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

Most definitely repentance and forgiveness. I make mistakes. simple as that. We could not become clean from sin if it were not for the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us. When we sin we feel burdened with a load that we cannot carry alone. Satan tries his absolute hardest to have us think that we cannot be forgiven and that we are not worth the time. This is NOT true. As we repent with a sincere heart full of desire, WE ARE FORGIVEN. I have felt my burdens literally lifted from me as I have applied the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. I know that when our burdens are lifted that our sins are remembered no more, and that we have the chance to continue onward with an eye of faith knowing that we are never alone. I love Jesus Christ. Words cannot express the amount of love and gratitude that I have for him. He has experienced all that we have experienced and so much more. "I Know That My Redeemer Lives!"

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is powerful. God, who is perfect, loves us dearly and wants to hear from us. I am FAR from perfect, but I know that God wants me to pray to him and show humility by acknowledging that I am nothing without him. Prayer gives me added strength and comfort throughout the day. I feel lost when I dont pray. At times I feel like I need to have a wheelbarrell full of "Ah ha" moments when I pray. As wonderful as those experiences are, I have found that they are not frequent. If we recieved those all the time then we would not be acting for ourselves, but would become reliant upon those "Ah ha" moments. We would not learn the principle of study, hard work, or enduring to the end. I am greatful that every prayer I give is not answered immediately. "My ways are not your ways". I know that this is true and that our prayers are answered in the Lords time, not ours.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

Answers to prayers is a very interesting thing for me. Everybody recieves answers to prayers in ways that they can recognize and discern. For me, I have found that frequently my answers are given by directing me to study it out and put in the effort in order to find an answer to a question or to find solace and relief.

How I live my faith

I think that this part is sometimes looked at something "drastic" that sets me apart as a member. In all reality, being a member is apart of my everyday life and is normal. Being a member isnt meant to be something crazy or out of the ordinary, but is meant to help people become their very best selves. You find that your life weaves itself with the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ. I live my faith by following the promptings of the spirit the best I can and applying the scriptures and the words of our Living day Prophet into my life. I have the wonderful opportunity to teach people about how they too can apply the teachings that have been given to us in the past and now in the present. How great is my calling!
