About Me

So you wanna know about me huh? well truthfully I am not a networking type of a person. I had a myspace in high school and then decided I needed to get out of my diapers and move on. te he. I have this profile with the hopes of shedding a little bit of light on my testimony of the Savior, and how I came to know him as my brother, Savior, and best friend. I was raised in the church by my most wonderful and dear parents. I am from a small town in Utah about a hour and a half south of Salt Lake City. I come from a family of 7 kids and I am the 3rd oldest. I am now serving a mission full time in the beautiful state of Wisconsin where I have learned how to say bag, tag, rag, flag, ect.. correctly? I love this place with all my heart. The people here are absolutely amazing and are very charitable, and I know that I am in this part of the Lords Vineyard for a reason. I love riding bikes, groovin' on tunes, lifting weights, and being with my family. I am now the uncle of 2 little chubs and so STOKED! about that. You can refer to me as "Uncle Mog"........but seriously.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter Day Saint because I know that in a world like we live in today that I can feel peace and joy in knowing that God loves me and has prepared a plan for me and for all of his children to return and live with him. The only way that we can fully access that plan is through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. It is the Lords Church and contains the same elements and authority as Christ' Church of old spoken of in the Bible. I know that is true because of the simple commandment of prayer. God answers my questions and will do the same for you. Nuff said

How I live my faith

I think that this part is sometimes looked at something "drastic" that sets me apart as a member. In all reality, being a member is apart of my everyday life and is normal. Being a member isnt meant to be something crazy or out of the ordinary, but is meant to help people become their very best selves. You find that your life weaves itself with the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ. I live my faith by following the promptings of the spirit the best I can and applying the scriptures and the words of our Living day Prophet into my life. I have the wonderful opportunity to teach people about how they too can apply the teachings that have been given to us in the past and now in the present. How great is my calling!

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Morgan
We baptize new members because it is a commandment from God. "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3 5. Baptism is the first step that is taken to enter in the gate that leads us on the straight and narrow path to eternal life. Baptism is the first step. After we are baptized we recieve the Gift of the Holy Ghost and experience growth beyond what we thought we were capable of. We baptize new members to fulfill the commandment God has given to us, and help them progress toward the greatest of Gods Gifts, Eternal Life. "And after they had been received unto baptism, and were wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ and their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto prayer, relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith."
