Hi I'm Allison

I am a married mother of two. I am happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 6 years, and I am a stay-at-home mom to two kids, a boy 3 and a girl 8 months. I have a BA and a MA in English literature, and I taught some college courses and worked full-time prior to having children. I make time every day to experiment with new recipes, run/ exercise, read, and just get outside and enjoy life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon a number of times, and I have prayed and felt the Holy Spirit's confirmation that the book is true, that it is the word of God recorded by his ancient prophets in the Americas. When I live according to the commandments Heavenly Father has provided in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and through his latter-day prophets, I am blessed beyond measure. My happiness and my accomplishments are the direct result of guidance through continuing personal revelation that I receive through the Holy Spirit and of obedience to the commandments of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I presently participate in our local congregation by helping to plan activities for the women in the ward that allow us to get to know one another better and to learn skills that will better ourselves and help our families--such as sewing, making bread, establishing family Christmas traditions, and recording family histories. I host play groups and girls' nights for the young mothers in the congregation. I teach lessons to the women of the congregation on Sundays based on the recent teachings of the prophets and other church leaders. I volunteer at a local retirement community, helping to put on activities for the residents.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

All of nature testifies that there is a God,a supreme creator who created the universe and the Earth in an ordered manner. The way the ecosystems all rely on each other and work together, the beauty of the animals and plants, the perfection of newborn children all attest that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us enough to make all of this for us to enjoy.
