Hi I'm Sarah!

I'm from New Hampshire. I love sports, music, and therapeutic recreation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm your typical college student, getting ready to finish up and graduate in Therapeutic Recreation. I want to be a Recreational Therapist and work with youth so they can make positive changes in their lives to then go forth and help the world be better. I am from New Hampshire, which is my favorite place in the world, especially when I'm by the lake or the ocean. I love playing sports--field hockey is my favorite. I love hiking, camping, dancing, singing, playing the piano and organ, trying new things, el hablar en español, and just having a good time. I love the Harry Potter series and all Jane Austen novels. I try to always be optimistic, look for the good in each day, and help others be happy. Life is such a blessing. As Gordon B. Hinckley said, "In all living have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon first and foremost because I choose to be so. It's my life. My parents have been members since before I was born, so I grew up attending church, praying, and reading the Book of Mormon. I always knew that what I was doing was good and made me happy, but eventually I wanted to know for myself if everything I had learned was correct. I began praying, studying the scriptures, and fasting more earnestly, and gradually over time, my testimony was strengthened. It was not a big or amazing "THIS IS TRUE!" experience, but a slow and steady process that reinforced what I already knew to be true, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is, in fact, the fullness of the Gospel restored to the earth through Joseph Smith. It is led by Jesus Christ Himself through His prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. Joseph Smith translated The Book of Mormon which is the word of God and which truly testifies of our Savior Jesus Christ. Christ was sent to this earth to atone for our sins because of the infinite love He and our Father in Heaven have for all of us. They know what we go through daily and are always there to help comfort, guide, and direct us through our journey here on earth. We are here not only to learn and to grow, but also to have joy. Being a Mormon and having this knowledge has given me more joy than I ever imagined possible.

How I live my faith

Living my faith has become so much a part of who I am that it is just something I do every day. I strive to treat everyone as a child of God and give service to others because we all truly are sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. I read my scriptures daily, pray often, keep my standards high and language clean, attend church each week, and try to improve myself daily by following Christ and choosing to act as He would. I also had the blessing and privilege of serving my Heavenly Father as a missionary of His church for a year and a half in Ecuador. I taught people how to come unto Christ, follow Him, repent, and make promises with God that would bring them eternal blessings and endless happiness. The Gospel of Jesus Christ changes hearts and changes lives.
