Hi I'm Jerry Gifford

I'm a Mormon.I grew up in a small town in california, left home at 17 to see the world.

About Me

67 years old , married 47 happy years ,father of 7, granpa to 24, Great to 4. Covert to the Church at the age of 21. I was given a book on the history of the church while in the Navy, as I read it every thing just sounded correct. I had no background in religon, as a matter of fact had not even been to any church at that point. I had not even met the girl who sent me the book, we were pen-pals, I got the chance to meet this young girl in 1964. From there on my life changed. Boy, did it ever change... I started to find all those things that I was missing and had been looking for.

Why I am a Mormon

This is the same gosple that Christ set up. This is the way to True Happiness..It took me a long while and many dead end roads to find this Happiness that was always right before me. DUH...Some of us are just not so swift. The Church teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ, true happiness comes from service to others. I'm so thankful that I was intoduced to the Church.

How I live my faith

I try hard to be an example to those that I come in contact with. I have had the oppertunity to work with the youth. I've been able to see many grow, and start thier own familys. I try hard to help out were needed and to serve others. My greatest joy in my life comes because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Jerry Gifford
In the scriptures we can grow closer to God. As we read and learn of God, we find out who we are and the path ways that we should follow. As we read the words of God, we will grow closer to Him. The Holy Ghost will let us know they rae true. As we learn of Him, we will have a greaer desire to follow Him and be as He is. It is then that we find true happiness. Show more Show less
