Hi I'm Randall

I'm a husband, a father, a software performance analyst, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of four. I work in the software industry as a performance analyst. I love playing sports when I get the chance. I try to get to the gym early enough to still get to work and be home to spend a few hours with my kids each day. I lived in Argentina for 2 years and really miss the food.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was taught to believe in the principles of the Church and live by them, I had to come to my own realization of their worth. I have had various experiences in life that have proven to me that there is more to this existence than what I can see, hear, or touch. I have felt the stirring in my heart for the word of God. I have felt an assurance of His love for me. I have realized the mercy of Christ. There is an unseen power that is moving the world toward captivity. It works in darkness and subtlety. But there is another power--light, peace, truth, and liberty--that fights for the hearts of men. I have felt both of these powers and I choose to walk in the light. The principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which I have taken part in my whole life, are closely aligned with the power of goodness and liberty. Surrounded by a world that is literally falling apart on every level, Mormonism points me to that Rock upon which I can always find support. More than any other theology I know of, it gives purpose to life in this world and the next. As I see the challenges which my children will face increase in severity, I see no better option than to teach them to believe and live by the principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe they are true and am a witness to their value. I am a witness of God, our Father, and of His Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

At home, we pray and read from the scriptures daily. We also strive to play together and have a weekly special lesson on some Gospel topic. This last week my wife gave a lesson on the importance of reading in the scriptures each day. We go to church each week and strive to keep Sunday a holy day. Right now, I have the awesome opportunity to teach the nine- and ten-year old children each Sunday. We have been studying the New Testament this year. Along with my team teacher, we have tried to bring these stories and principles to life. It's amazing to see these kids when something finally clicks in their head and they begin to understand these stories in the Bible for the first time.
