Hi I'm Dagny

I am very happy with the way life worked out. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom of a little girl and a little boy. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education a few years ago and now I raising my wonderful children. I love to read. I love to be outdoors. I like to make things. Above all else, I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was born, so I have spent all of my life in the church. I have had many experiences on my own, however, where I have had to make my own decision to spend the rest of my life in the church. The biggest turning point for me was when I was 16 and by best friend started investigating the church. As we met with the missionaries, as he went to church with me, and as asked me questions, I prayed and studied along side him and gain my own witness that the Church is true. Now, that best friend is my husband, and I am so grateful that we are able to build our family on the foundations of the church.

How I live my faith

One of the reasons we are given callings and commandments is because faith is something that needs to be nurtured on a daily basis. There are times when I feel there is such a big list of things to do: pray ever day, read scriptures every day, go to church every Sunday, have Family Home Evening every Monday, go visiting teaching once a month, go to the temple as often as possible, fast every month, and on and on. However, when I step back and look at the list, I realize that these are the actions that bring the most blessings into my life. As my family gathers every night to have family prayer, I can feel us growing closer together. I get excited when my daughter recognizes Jesus in pictures when we have Family Home Evening. I feel strengthened as I visit the other women in my ward with my visiting teaching companion. My faith grows as I keep these commandments on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity means to only have sex with your legal spouse. It's a principle that really strengthens marriages! It is so comforting to me to know that my husband fully intends to live this law. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Heavenly Father's greatest gift to us is our ability to choose. Those who are on missions have used that gift and chosen to serve. It is recommended for many, but they must make the decision on their own. Show more Show less
