Hi I'm Manon.

I was born in Utah. I've lived in Micronesia and all around the United States. I love new experiences and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of four young adults. I am coming to terms with being an "empty nester" and expecting my first grandchild! I love junk food, bowling and spending time with my friends and family. At age 35 I went to college for the first time. I was afraid that I couldn't cut it because I struggle with math. I spent hours at the math lab and discovered that I was a great student. I now hold a masters degree in social work and I love what I do. I want to live my life to the fullest and take advantage of all there is to see and do. I also love helping other's to do the same.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up a Mormon, I was taught that Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ know me personally. As I went through some struggles in life, I stopped living my faith and really questioned how I was raised. As I became more disconnected from God, I became quite lonely. At one point, I cried out in prayer and received an answer in the form of a phone call from a beloved uncle, asking me to come stay with his family and offering to help me start living the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I learned more about the Savior, my heart began to feel at home. I really started to feel God's love in my life, and I regained that knowledge that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me and love me personally. The knowledge that I am a child of God carries me through life and makes me want to reach out and share that love with all of my brothers and sisters in the world. The gospel of Jesus Christ has saved my life and allows me to really live, not just survive. As I have been quite shy in the past, the love that I feel as child of God is what has allowed me to open up more to others. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to teach the gospel. the scriptures are so full of the same challenges that we face today. Whether it's teaching the teens, children or adult women, sharing the gospel gives me joy! I also love visiting those who are ill or homebound. I particularly love my brothers and sisters who live with mental illness. The spirit of the Savior creates lasting bonds of friendship as I have visited, taught and served others, both those of my faith and those not of my faith. I also live my faith by how I treat my family. The gospel has both saved and enriched my marriage and given more meaning to my role as wife and mother. The gospel has helped me to not despair when times are difficult and to show forgiveness and love when times are tough. Not all those in my family are LDS and the gospel helps me to not judge, but to look to Christ for my pattern of how to love.

What is the Law of Chastity?

When he put us on this earth, our Heavenly Father gave us the divine power to partner with him in creating life. The Law of Chastity is a guide and a safeguard. By being modest in dress and clean in our thoughts, words and actions; we safeguard that sacred power to create life. Once we marry and begin to have children, we continue to keep the Law of Chastity by being completely faithful and loyal to our spouse. Keeping this law brings children into homes where selfishness is minimized and safety and love abound. Show more Show less
