Hi I'm Shawn

I'm an accountant. My family and I have lived and worked in Kansas, Missouri and Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a husband and dad and spending time with my immediate and extended family. We like to go to museums, zoos and other local attractions/events. We also try to plan and go on a vacation once per year. We love sports and like to follow our favorite teams. We also love to participate in Church activities and help others in our neighborhood.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents and both sets of grandparents, etc. were Mormons too. I feel blessed to have been raised in a family that believed in Jesus Christ and attempted to apply the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. Upon living the principles taught by Jesus Christ, his prophets and apostles the Holy Ghost has testified to me that these teachings are true, including the doctrine of how we can live together forever with our families. I love my Savior Jesus Christ with all of my heart and I'm grateful that he continues to lead and guide his Church with living prophets and apostles. I'm also grateful for our Savior's atonement and the opportunity it provides me to repent of mistakes and try to become more like him everyday. The world often defines 'Peace' as a lack of conflict. However, I've learned that the gospel of Jesus Christ offers 'Peace' despite conflict.

How I live my faith

My family and I try to apply the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives. We participate in Sunday services/meetings along with various Church activities during the week. As counseled by the prophet, we reserve Monday nights for family learning, activities and, of course, treats! We attempt to have daily prayers and scripture study together as well. We also look for opportuintes to help those in need in our neighborhood and community. We also love participating in community activities and getting to know everyone, including many friends who are not members of our Church.
