Hi I'm Charles

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a commercial journeyman carpenter. I have 4 children and a wonderful wife who are the love of my life. Though originally from a small town I have come to enjoy city life. The outdoors are definately one of my favorite places to reflect upon the wonders of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was baptized at the standard age of 8yrs old I did not truely become converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ until in my early 20's. I was raised by my grandparents who were active members of the church. They encouraged me to attend church with them and participate in all affiliated activities.....namely scouting. I realized after the death of first my grandfather and then 6 months later the death of my grandmother that my testimony was built upon their beliefs and not my own. After careful consideration I decided the church was not for me and quit attending. I prayed to Heavenly Father and stated "if the church is true and I have a true purpose to fulfill in the gospel, send me a sign......show me that I am important. Without this testament I will have no true knowledge that you even exist." That night I received a knock on my door. There were 2 gentlemen standing before me. Brother Soka whom I would later discover was the Elders Quorum President stated " We are here to visit you, we have received inspiration from God that you are in need of our visit." I invited them in and we had a great discussion. After that I have always been active in the church, how could I not.

How I live my faith

I try to set a good example in the lives of those around me throuh my deeds and actions. I am far from perfect and make many mistakes but I know our savior loves us and is willing to except us for who we are as long as we continue to seek after him and strive to better ourselves. Nothing brings me closer to our Savior than serving my fellow men and women.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

It is called the 'word of wisdom' and that is exactly what it is.....words that are wise to follow. Many questions about the word of wisdom I don't know answers to but I do have the great example of tobacco use. the word of wisdom says that we should not partake in the use of tobacco products. The word of wisdom was revelation given to the prophet Joseph Smith after enquiring of the Lord at the request of his wife Emma. Emma had shared frustration with the prophet because of the disgusting filth that was left over after Sunday meetings from the bretheren spitting their tobacco on the floor where they met. What is truely fascinating about this is that it took place in the mid 1800's......that is a long time before the surgeon general warnings. God created us therefore who would know better than him as to what would be good for us and on the same note bad.   Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Husband and wife lasting forever is the purpose of the church. God created us in his own image......Meaning we too have the ability to create life. but it should only be through the holy order of marriage. Show more Show less
