Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like poetry and writing. I love music and I love to read. Because of my love of reading I have read the Bible 7 times, Revelations 14 times, and the Book of Mormon 4 times. I've been to three trade schools and graduated. I was raised in a small New England town and it is a wonderful memory to have to remember the church bells every sunday calling the faithful worshipers to service...most people walked to church...I was raised Protestant after my Dads faith. I am a Mom, and all my sons are grown now.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of my love of reading it led me to reading the Book of Mormon. I saw a commercial on T.V. and it choked me up .... it was about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints....at the end of the commercial was a phonenumber to receive a free book of Mormon...so I called that number and a few days later I got my book. I started reading and could not put the book down. It was obvious that this was not a simple novel...this was a work of God. I felt the spirit so strong as I read the words of an ancient civilization that lived here in the Americas. I knew Heavenly Father had not forgotten about us! It was not long after that I was Baptized into the Church and have never regretted it since.

How I live my faith

My first calling when I joined the church was a teacher of five year olds. I loved it! I also had a calling as a den mother for the cubscouts and thoroughly enjoyed my three years doing that. Last year I was a teacher for the six and seven year olds and was also called to be a Ward Missionary with my husband. We loved it!!! We got the opportunity to go out and meet new people and share our testimonies with them. This year I am teaching again only this time it is with my sisters. I teach once a month and what I teach are the Gospel Principals. It is a wonderful way of growing and I love my calling. My husband and I have been called once again to be den leaders for the cubscouts, this is my second time but it is my husband first time and we are having the time of our lives!!!! I love all of my callings because it is a way to show my Heavenly Father how much I love him and my opportunity to show Jesus how thankful I am for his atonement. Callings are a way of letting the love I have for Heavenly Father flow out of my heart onto all the people. It is a way to fill my mouth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and my life with his service.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is the basic unit of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the most important social unit in time and eternity. God has established families to bring happiness to His children, allow them to learn correct principles in a loving atmosphere, and prepare them for eternal life. The home is the best place to teach, learn, and apply gospel principles. It is where individuals learn to provide the food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities they need. The father and mother, as equal partners, should help each family member seek the truth and develop faith in God, to repent of sins, be baptized for the remission of sins, become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and receive the Holy Ghost, and to obey the commandments of God, study the scriptures diligently, to offer personal prayers daily and serve others.
