Hi I'm Joanne

I do Zumba. I started an ethics fraternity in law school, and am passionate about community involvement. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love skiing, nature, and learning and trying new things. I traded workers comp defense litigation in for full-time motherhood, have a passion for interior design, and want to write a book. Besides my "better half," my greatest treasures are my 4 awesome kids!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Catholic and was completely committed to my faith. I found out about the Mormon Church because of a boy I dated in college. While I admit being drawn to his rugged good looks and big muscles, it was his spirituality that really impressed me. When he told me that God was literally the Father of my spirit, and that I was His daughter, and had His divine potential within me, it was like a light bulb turned on, and I knew it was true. It took almost a year of going to church, reading the Book of Mormon, talking with girl Mormon missionaries, and lots of soul-wrenching prayers, for me to be ready to be baptized into this faith. When you have the most powerful Being in the universe in your corner, through all the blessings and knowledge that you receive in His church, your life will never be the same!

How I live my faith

Because God is still revealing things to his prophet today, just like he did with Moses and Abraham in the Bible, I feel like I specifically know how God wants me to live my life and raise my family in 2011. There are a million choices we can make in life, but because I have the guidance of Thomas S. Monson, who is the prophet and president of our church, and who receives revelation for our issues today, and because God talks to me personally and reveals things to me as I pray and act, I have a roadmap that GUARANTEES me happiness not only now, but after I die, if I just follow it. I'm far from perfect, but I have so much PEACE in my life knowing that I am on the right track - the "narrow way" if you will, referenced in Matthew 7:14. I work with 12-18 year olds in our church, and I love helping them learn who they are, what God wants for and from them, and helping their faith in our Savior Jesus Christ to grow stronger. Eternity is a really long time, and what we do in this life impacts what happens to us in eternity, so we talk about the most important things they can be doing NOW, so that they may have joy and reach their highest potential for ETERNITY. I believe with all my heart that God wants everyone to know these things.
