Hi I'm Karen.

I'm a mom, a grandma and I love to do sports with my family. I like to paint, I'm learning to quilt and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 6 children and 6 grandchildren that are the joy of my life. I love trying new things with my best friend and husband Tom. We did our first triathlon on our 25th anniversary, a little scary but fun. I enjoy painting, mostly because I love to work with color. I'm learning to piece quilt tops for the same reason. I love to do outdoor sports, especially water sports. We have a boat and go on it as much as possible. Basicly anything can become fun if I'm with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and raised active in the church. Even with that I realized I had to develop my own belief and build my own faith. I had to have something inside of me to hold on to, to give me direction when I came to the many cross-roads of my life. I have found that the more I study the Book of Mormon and try to follow it's teachings, the happier I am and the more confident I feel.Life is richer and more fulfilling. I see this same pattern in my children's lives as well.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life-line. Every day I read and study my scriptures. I pray daily, privately on my knees as well as in my heart where ever I am. I teach early morning seminary. This is a class where the youth in our high school meet at 6:00am to study the scriptures for 40 minutes and then go to school. I love to see the scriptures come alive for them and how they can relate to their personal lives. I love Jesus Christ and the best way I know how to show my love for him is to serve others. It's an amazing feeling to feel, in a small way, that I may have lifted someone else's burden.
