Hi I'm Wendy

I'm just a regular stay-at-home mom. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I just love to have fun!! Whether it's traveling around the world or playing in my own backyard, if it's fun, I'm in! Throwing parties or planning celebrations is my favorite hobby, and one I'd love getting paid for if I could. I also like to watch movies, read books, and cook. I'm relatively newly-wed, so I'm not a mom quite yet. I keep busy instead by working in an office by day and being a student by night. I consider myself just your regular everyday person. I'm not known for anything fantastic or inspiring, but I know God loves me all the same.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised from my childhood as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Like most other kids, though, when I became a teenager I no longer believed everything my parents told me. I wanted to know for myself why I lived how I did, and whether what I had been taught was really true. The Book of Mormon is called the "keystone" of our religion - the piece that holds the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints together. The book itself contains a promise that if we read it, and ask God to tell us if it's not true, He WILL tell us. So I took God up on the challenge. I had read just part of the book but prayed to know if it was true. Though that was many years ago, I distinctly remember the thought, "You already know it's true" come into my head as I prayed. This thought was accompanied by a lovely peaceful feeling, and that is a knowledge I know came from God and I cannot deny. Since then, I've continued to follow the teachings of the prophets and be an active member of the church. I do so, because as I've done so, I've seen the promises God has made be fulfilled in my life. Though sometimes I don't understand the direction my life takes, I know that I have been given a loving husband, extended family, a good job, a nice home, and many other blessings because I try to do what God asks of me. I also know that if all this was taken from me, that I am still a daughter of a Heavenly Father, still loved and never forsaken by God and Jesus Christ. I know They live and care about me and my individual needs AND wants. Knowing that is worth more to me than any fame and fortune the world can give.

How I live my faith

Through the church, I have the opportunity to visit with a few women in my neighborhood each month. I love being able to do this because it helps me to get to know these women a little better and make new friends. It's wonderful because we are able to share ideas and insights and help one another with life's little struggles. My other responsibilities are helping in the church's library and conducting our choir. Though I have not had any past experience in these areas, I appreciate the skills I learn as fulfill my assignments. It also helps me to have empathy for others, knowing that a lot of us are novices in the things we're asked to do. I think it's a great way to build character, and to round out our life's experiences.
