Hi I'm Chelsea

I'm swimmer. I'm a hiker. I'm a queen of awkward moments. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am just another girl trying to make her way through life, and life is great. Don't get me wrong I still have my bad days. It has taken me time and time again to learn that those "bad days" don't have to define who you are. In the words of Sara Evans, "Even on my weakest days, I get a little bit stronger." I am a student attending university. I LOVE to learn. Because there is just so much I want to learn I have had the hardest time deciding what I want to study. After serving a volunteer proselyting mission for the Lord in Sweden, I learned that I definitely love languages, even though I may not be very good at learning them. I currently can speak German, Swedish and American English, with an understanding of Danish and Norwegian. Next on my list is Finnish. I love to swim. I love to do puzzles. I love to read. I love the smell of orange soda, the smell right before it begins to rain, and the smell of a swimming pool. I love falling asleep to the sound of a thunderstorm. I love mountains. I love to write letters. I love the ocean. I love loving.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church. My parents are members and my grandparents were members and their parents were as well. So why am I a member? It is not because my family are members. I am a member out of my own choice. I think I finally started to become converted when I was around 16. I was in a sad place and I was sick of it. I wanted to feel joy and peace. So one day I finally got up and got down on my knees. It has been a slow process. It took years before I could claim that I had a testimony of my own. It began when I finally realized that I am a literal daughter of a God, my Heavenly Father, and He loves me more than I can comprehend. From there my testimony of the Gospel of Christ has only grown and it continues to grow. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God with the complete Gospel, and that Joseph Smith translated the Book by the power of God. I know Joseph Smith was and is a prophet of God. I know that our current prophet, Thomas Monson, is also a prophet of God today. I know that, my God, my Heavenly Father and, my Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ love and know my completely. I know that my Elder Brother, Jesus Christ, died and took upon my sins and my pains of every kind, so that I may live with Him again. I know what his loving arms feel like when they are wrapped around me as I cry on the bathroom floor. I know the joy that the Gospel brings. I know that I am princess to a King - I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father, of God.

How I live my faith

One day at a time. With one act of love at a time.
