Hi I'm Kyle

I'm a father of 3. I love starting businesses, and helping business grow. I'm an avid world traveler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up all over the western US, moving around a lot with my family. I call Tucson my home town. I served a mission for my church in Taiwan for two years, and I speak fluent Mandarin Chinese. I'm a father of 3 kids, one daughter and two sons. I love spending time with my kids at the beach, in the mountains, going on trips, and taking them on bike rides. I work in management consulting, in strategy developement for large businesses. I have started a number of businesses, including a surfboard import business. I love surfing. I've also played professionaly in a number of bands, a rock band where I was the lead singer/rhythm guitarist, a jazz combo where I was lead alto sax player, and a reggae band where I was a sax player as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I answer this question in two parts. 1. Why am I a Christian? I believe that Jesus Christ is my savior and the savior of the world. I have felt the peace and love that comes through embracing Christ and his atonement. I have also felt the spirit confirm to me that he lives, and that through him all mankind may be saved from sin and death through the grace of Christ Jesus. 2. Why am I a Mormon? While I am grateful for all Christian churches that teach people to believe in Jesus, I believe that the true and original church of Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it truly is an inspired book, and, in companionship to the bible, is another testament of Jesus Christ. As I've read, pondered, and prayed, I have felt the spirit confirming that the book is also the word of God. As such I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not a church that teaches about Jesus, but is in fact the restored Church of Christ, lead by a living prophet that receives inspiration on how to lead the church today.

How I live my faith

"Pure religion... is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27. I believe the essence of living my faith is obeying the two great commandments, love God, and love your neighbor. I do my best to help and lift those I interact with and to just be a good neighbor and friend. I also teach sunday school in my local congregation, which helps me learn more about Christ as I teach. One of the most important ways I live my faith is by teaching my children how to pray, follow Jesus, and strive to be good people and citizens, although their faith helps me live my faith probably more than mine helps them. One of my favorite verses in the Book of Mormon is 2nd Nephi 25:26 "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." That is how I try to live my faith.
