Hi I'm Garth

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Greetings. I am a husband to my wife of 33 years. I am a father to 5 children, grandfather to 3 grandchildren. I have an MBA, a PMP and an EMT-Intermediate. I am a student again in college. I've worked for 27 years in a high tech company. I enjoy hiking, camping, alpine mountain climbing, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and volunteering. I've jumped out of an airplane at 30,000 feet. I've driven a sports car around the track in speeds exceeding 150MPH.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS family. I still needed to be converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. My personal conversion came when I was a young teenager looking to find my own testimony of the restored gospel. I find peace and joy in the reading the scriptures.

How I live my faith

I've worked with the youth in the church for the last 27 years straight. I enjoy taking them on new adventures and letting them experience exciting activities. I enjoy seeing their excitement in serving the Lord. I enjoy seeing their look of accomplishment when they've done something that challenged them whether it was rock climbing for the first time, rappelling down a cliff or summiting the highest mountain in the state just in time to see the sun rise. I volunteer one night a week in a health clinic and one night a week on an ambulance. I enjoy helping people. For the last three years I've averaged over 1200 hours of volunteer service each year.
