Hi I'm Paul

I grew up in Spokane, WA. I have lived in the midwest for almost 30 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy being a Dad. My wife and I have seven children. Each of them very different from one another and each one of them I consider a very very close friend. Every day presents new challenges for us, relating to work or community, church, family and staying connected to those things that are most important. I like to be a builder, not a critic. I enjoy the study of fitness. I swing a kettlebell. I like to be at home. I love working with wood and mechanical things. I am very curious and ask alot of questions, seeking understanding. Once I understand something I tend to teach. I root for the underdog and want to see the underpriveleged perceive themselves as just as capable. I really enjoy associating with positive, open, curious fully disclosing people. Isn't that most everyone? I value validating and being validated. You are awesome!

Why I am a Mormon

I was able to see that being a Mormon provided a very clear roadmap or blueprint for me to follow. I have found answers to my questions concerning my relationship with our Father in Heaven (God). I have a clearer understanding of the Savior Jesus Christ and His role as the Savior of the world. I have seen how following the example of Jesus brings peace into my life. I feel very much at home being a Mormon. I love it and the more time I spend learning more about what Heavenly Father wants for us, His children, the more I want to learn about Him and about Jesus Christ and try to be more like the Savior. I know that Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and that is why He has provided a way to know about where we came from, why we are here and how we can best prepare for where we are going after this life is over. I am the happiest I have ever been!

How I live my faith

I have learned that I live my faith best by being of service to others. I have seen the example Jesus gave us when He lived upon the earth and it was about His selfless service to others. When I serve others by doing the best I can in my church assignments I can see that it brings relief and happiness to others. It lifts a burden from the shoulders of those that I care for. When I see that happen in other people's lives it brings a smile to my face and makes my heart just leap for joy. It is very contagious too! I always want to do better because I see others doing much better than I in following the Savior's example and it makes me feel like I can do better as well. Being a member of a family really helps in facing challenges and being successful in becoming a better person by overcoming the blessing of having challenges.
