Hi I'm Lynette

I'm a stay at home mom, a mother of twins, a soccer mom, PTA volunteer, and a gardener. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in several states moving every 3-4 years as a child. I love sports, gardening, and being with my family. I am a stay at home mother of 8 children, and have my first grandchild on the way. I love being a mom. I graduated in Mechanical Engineering with my Bachelor's degree, and designed a remote control vacuum cleaner. I love to learn, and find out how things work.

Why I am a Mormon

I am fortunate that my ancestors found the church early in its existence. They were converted and followed its teachings. My family down to me have also realized the truth and lived the teachings of the gospel. Because of my heritage I was exposed to the gospel at an early age. Although the gospel has been a part of my life, I was still given the opportunity to decide for myself if I would be converted. I don't just mean being baptized at 8, but I needed to decide if I would truly live the gospel and its teachings. Even those who have grown up in the church must become converted. I wanted to know if the church was true. I studied and prayed if it was. I found out for myself that it is. The more I try to live the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the happier I become. I make a lot of mistakes, but I can feel of my Heavenly Father's and my Savior's love. The Savior paid the price, and just wants us to accept his atonement. To do so we must repent and be baptized, and then we must keep the commandments. If we make a mistake we need to fix it through repentance, and then we can be happy again. We can share this happiness with our families and friends so that they can be with us for eternity. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to help others. It is what makes me most happy. My first love is my family. That is why although I have a mechanical engineering degree, I chose to stay at home with them. Even though we have struggled, we have always been blessed to have what we need financially with one income. I love to support my husband and my eight children in all that they do. I am currently a soccer, basketball, choir, and a theater mom. I have served in the girl scouts and cub scouts, and I am currently a wolf den leader. My co-leader and I have had up to 15 cubs in our den but currently have only 7. We have helped over 90% of our cubs to earn their wolf badges. I love helping children who are struggling. I have volunteered at our local literacy center, and at our local school. I currently help out with the star tutoring program at our school, help out in my son's classroom, and I am the education commissioner for the PTA. I spend many hours trying to provide programs where children can succeed. Some of my favorite moments have been when I have seen a child that struggles with reading or math, and I can personally see them overcome that challenge. Their lives change, and they feel good about themselves. I also have a very special assignment at church. I get to help a boy who is blind and deaf. It is so amazing to be with him, and feel of his spirit. He truly teaches me every week, and I am so grateful to be able to be with him. He is so amazing, and I know that he is one of our Father in Heaven's most valiant servants.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You are priviledged to find out for yourself. Know one can and should try to prove it to you. If you really want to know there is really only one way. It takes work but it is worth it. First think about if you really want to know, and if you do are you need to decide if you are willing to be baptised if it is. Next comes the work. You must study and pray. When you do this you will be filled with such a sense of goodness, peace, and love, that it will penetrate your soul. You will know that it is true. Show more Show less
