Hi I'm Steven

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and worked there most of my career life. Currently, I am retired and living in Utah.

About Me

I was an Information Technology department manager for a water company while living in Las Vegas. I am currently retired living in Utah. I have been married for over 36 years. We have had seven children (three adopted) and have been foster parents to many others. Currently, all of our children have moved out, but we now have 11 grand-children with which to play. I enjoy hiking, bicycle riding, bowling, and boating. After reading my profile you will find I am a man of few words.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life. I have always known it to be true. It helps me be a better person, father, husband, citizen, and to know what is right. I am a very happy person because of my religion.

How I live my faith

I strive to live by the word of God each day and provide service to others. I strongly believe in being honest with everyone and treating people with respect and kindness. In my church, I have served as a scout leader, a Weblos leader, a ward (congregational) clerk, financial clerk, membership clerk, executive secretary for the Bishop and a co-nursery leader with my wife. All of my callings have helped me to grow spiritually by learning the skills necessary to perform the work while serving others.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Steven
Salvation is a gift from God to us, His children. However, Jesus taught that in His Father's house there are many "mansions" or heavenly rewards or degrees of happiness all yet to be revealed to us. Our work is to learn to love God and our follow man both in a manner that pleases Him. We will all be rewarded according to our repentance, our diligence in keeping His commandments, our good works, and our desires. The "mansions" will of necessity be different because of our choices but the fact the "mansions" exist and everyone will receive one, whether lessor or greater, according to one's ability to receive that is His grace.
