Hi I'm Mitchell Greener

I grew up in the North East of England. I have two wonderful daughters and wife that take up most of my time.

About Me

I am a father of two crazy daughters. I enjoy all the time I get to spend with them, everyday they make me laugh as they learn something new. I have just finished a masters degree in Engineering at the University of Leeds and now work at a power station as an Environmental Graduate. Outside of studying and work I enjoy playing pretty much any sport. I used to also play the bass in a jazz band but haven't played for around 2 years, perhaps this is something to get into again.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I firmly believe in it's teaching and principles. Having a knowledge of principles such as life after death and why I am here now have helped me greatly. With family being such an important part of my life I am grateful that I know I can live with them again after this life along with friends. Praying is a big part of why I am a Mormon. I feel that I have received answers from Heavenly Father (God) through meaningful prayer. Answers have come for both little and big decisions. The best part is anyone can do what I did and pray to ask if God was there, if the Book of Mormon is true or ask any other important questions. I didn't just listen to other people telling me to come to church, I found out for myself and the best thing is anyone can do this. Living commandments from Heavenly Father given in biblical times as well as in modern times allow me to show him how grateful I am for everything I am blessed with. As I live these commandments I feel a greater joy in my life. So essentially I am a Mormon because it makes me happy and because I can't deny the truths taught in it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve others as best I can. This includes doing large community projects as well as regular visits to people to share short messages and check everything is OK. At church I have helped to teach youth from the age of 12-18 as well as teaching children as young as 3. Teaching the youth also included holding youth groups every Tuesday night where we played sports, watched movies and did many more activities. Currently I help to teach in the final hour of church. When I was younger I had an opportunity to serve as a missionary for the church in and around Birmingham. This allowed me to serve and help many other people as well as teach them about their Heavenly Father. The biggest part of living my faith is being available to friends, neighbours, family and colleagues to help answer any questions they might have about the church, its beliefs or questions about life generally.
