Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Australia. I am a father of 5 & I am a Carpenter training for a change of career at age 44.

About Me

I feel blessed to have grown up in Melbourne Australia, such a naturally beautiful part of the country abounding in such great opportunity. Although I have not had opportunity to travel the world, I feel blessed to have seen much of this wide brown land & feel so proud to be an Aussie. I am in my early 40s & am eternally blessed having married the love of my life, together we have 5 Children. I cant express how much I love my family, they are my life. My children range from 4 years old to 22 years of age, they are truly the greatest source of joy, constantly reminding me how little I really know about life. I love to sing, whether in the Choir or Solo, I truly feel inspired & lifted as I engage in the song of the heart. I have been part of several musicals & involved in many musical programs through our Church, this is my passion. I have spent the best part of 20 years working as a Carpenter & have truly enjoyed the time spent creating the physical structures others have designed & even had opportunity to design a few myself, however I have recently been engaged over a year in study to broaden my opportunity for employment to try new things, while continuing my studies I have become employed full time in the Health Care system as an operating Theatre Technician in a well known Hospital. This has been a huge leap for one who has not studied scholastically for 27 years but I am excited to have been provided this new challenge to grow & to help others in some small way.

Why I am a Mormon

My beloved Mother was baptised into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just after my birth as two very special young men knocked on my mothers front door, these two impressive young men as my mother referred to them as, (Missionaries) were the source of the greatest joy in her life as mum knew from their very first message that what they were saying was true & inviting her to come unto Jesus Christ & to pray about what this young boy Joseph smith had said & done was really true. Difficult time pressed upon us as my Father walked away from our family but my mother found such great strength through her new found faith & support given by those within the Church as she was strengthened in the Saviour. Mother taught me to inquire for myself as to whether this 14 year old boy Joseph Smith truly did see God the Father & his only begotten Sone Jesus Christ. I read the witness given by this young man & received the most beautiful peaceful assurance that yes this is true & as he said, I also could not block it out, I could not deny the feelings which brought me to tears in my youth one night as I kneeled down beside my bed to know that all these things told to me by my mother are true. Now as my Mother has recently past on from this life, I through her example draw strength form this knowledge that she is with my Father in Heaven awaiting to be reunited for the eternities with me & our family past present & future through the blessings promised to those who would enter in by the way of Baptism which our Saviour Jesus Christ has shown us through his example of Baptism by emersion & receiving the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands by those given authority to administer in these ordinances & entering his Holy Temple to be sealed together forever with our loved ones never to be separated. I take great joy & comfort now teaching my precious children these truths & teaching them to do as I did in praying to know for them selves the truths offered to all man kind.

How I live my faith

Coming together as a body of men (brothers) to help those members of the Church or even non members who need help. Perhaps gardening, building repairs, moving house, assisting with transport somewhere or just visiting a friend who may be sick or feeling a little flat. There are so many ways I am grateful, to come together with others to serve. I often ponder how the whole world would be if all the human race desired to assist their neighbour in whatever need. As a member of the Church I am currently serving on the High Council in our Stake (area). I through this responsibility have the responsibility for Temple in our area, encouraging & promoting the Temple & the blessings to be received in that sacred place. I am so grateful for the opportunity to visit with my fellow members of the Church to assist in their growth & preparations to enter the Holy Temple of our God. I am also grateful to assist in providing activities like for instance at present bringing together a Musical night where all are invited to come & listen to beautiful uplifting music where local members sing praises to our Saviour & our God. This usually proceeds a supper where we are gathered to fellowship & discuss feelings & truths received through song throughout the night. I help others to come to the knowledge I & my family have received which brings such happiness to our lives, I can not keep this to myself as it is a gift meant all of constant piece, comfort & Joy.
