Hi I'm Nick Myers

I am a Poet, a Lyricist, aspiring musician, an organizer and I am a Mormon

About Me

I like to write poetry and song lyrics to express how I feel. I believe that everyone can be unique but still live the ideals of God. I moved around when I was growing up, I have lived in Germany, Texas, Oregon, and Washington. I have faced challenges in my life just like we all do. My father's side of the family are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they are Seventh Day Adventist and do not agree with our beliefs. I love my dad and my uncle very much, they taught me great values such as honesty, integrity, and hard work. What they taught me has and still influences my life in a positive way. I also am diagnosed with Bipolar and Anxiety disorders. I have learned that mental illness is a reality, but we can learn and grow even through it or any trial in our lives. I have learned that we cannot always control the things that happen to us but what we can do is choose how we respond to them. I love the hope that Jesus Christ gives to me, that He suffered and died for me, He did it for all, but I know that He knows what I am going through. I am grateful for that knowledge. I know that I am someone who always strives and will never give up.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have had experiences in my life to know for myself that this is the only true and living church of God on the earth today. I know that independent of anybody else. When I read the Book of Mormon and prayed, I felt a feeling so different from anything else that I have felt in my life, and I knew that feeling was the Holy Ghost. The more I live the principles and doctrines of the gospel the more I feel the Holy Ghost and the more blessings I see. Faith is believing without seeing and acting because of that belief and trust in God. I know that God keeps His promises and Loves each of us as His Children. That he is more than just an idea, He is our Father, and when we understand this relationship, everything else in the gospel falls into place and makes perfect sense. I know this is true because the Holy Ghost is more than a feeling it also makes it clear in my mind, so that I can understand it. I love it so much because God knows each of us individually and personally, we all learn differently and He knows exactly how to teach us. This gospel has brought me more happiness to my life than I could have possibly ever imagined. This is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have served as a Gospel Essentials/Principles teacher, a Ward Missionary and I served in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. I loved being a missionary it was the best decision of my life. I have learned that we can expect miracles everyday, always. Continually relying on Heavenly Father through prayer and listening to the Holy Ghost is so important, its the only way that I can do anything. I believe that being a missionary extends to all aspects of my life. David O. McKay - "Every Member a Missionary" Each day I strive to develop Christ-like attributes, I try to be an example to those around me though my actions. Every opportunity I get I share my testimony. I always try to be sincere, to really care about the happiness of others. I believe in trying to put myself in the other person's shoes, I try to imagine what they're going through and how they feel. I also love Hometeaching, through this service in the church I believe that I am creating friendships that will last throughout eternity. So I guess to put it in those most plain and simple way I can is the word = Service or Discipleship.
