Hi I'm Jake

I am a Father, Friend, Confidaunt and a Family History Center Volinteer. I am also a Morman.

About Me

I converted to the church back in December 1998. I am a currently a 38 year old single male, father of 1 beautiful little girl (8 yoa) & a family history volinteer. I am currently in between careers but stay busy with my volinteer activities (both in the church and outside it). Some of my hobbies include social networking, playing games on the computer and reading. I enjoy questioning what makes life work and how hevenly fathers plan makes it all possible. I have been inactive most of my time as a member due to our hevenly fathers sense of humor and me being cockey (I will post more further down in the personal stories section). I am currently active and striving to live my life like my hevenly father chooses and am enjoying life's blessings and challenges with goals of attending the temple in the near future.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a morman because... I feel that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the truest church on the earth today. Like in latter days we have a living prophet of God who continues to give guidence to the world, so we may live better lives and lets us know through modern revelation how to return to our Hevenly Father. I enjoy how our congregation works together to carry each others burden. I enjoy the fellowship that comes from seeing a fellow member out in the world and knowing that you are not alone to face the adversaries obsticles, and remebering that we are of the same flock that is being watched over by Jesus Christ, that we may draw strenth from the spiret and support from our brothers and sisters during our time of trouble and hardship. I enjoy and am greatful for the Book of Morman another Testiment of Jesus Christ, that confirms what Gods prophets of old have learned and taught and how Joseph Smith through the power of the Holy Ghost translated the Plates of Morman that sends us the same message from Hevenly Father. To sum it all up, I am Morman becasue I believe that the church is true and that it is the truest course fo me to be able to return to my Hevenly Father.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith... Wow that is such a huge question for me. The first thing that comes to mind is to do my best to follow the Word of Wisdon and the Ten Commandments, the other doctrine of the church is also very importent, but they are the layers not the foundation. To me they are the foundation in living my life to be the best person I may be. When I feeling battered and bruised from all the obsticles the adversary, my faith in knowing that Hevenly Father would not put me through anything that I cannot accomplish with his help. My Faith is what gives me the strenth to move forward when I want to do something I know I shouldn't. Service to others strengthens my faith, becasue I am allowed to see the world through Jesus's eyes, allows me to have compassion for my fellow man and see ways for service to make my community a better place to live. As my Faith grows so does my testimony of Jesus Christ who by his own actions shows me how importent having faith and serving others should be in out life. If you have faith, even the size of a musterd seed, I can testify to you, that you can move mountains, this I know because of experiances in my life.
