Hi I'm Reid

I'm a computer programmer, a music lover, a husband and a dad. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of five kids. My mom got me started on piano lessons when I was six, and I continued taking lessons until graduating high school. I still enjoy playing piano and singing a lot. I also started writing computer programs at a young age, and that has turned into a hobby and career for me. My three sisters all got married before me, so I got to be "Uncle Reid" for a while before anybody started calling me Dad. I met my wife after finishing my Master's, and we're now experiencing the joys (and challenges!) of being parents. I'm working as a web programmer for a local company.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to Mormon parents, and so were my parents and grandparents, so my family has long-standing roots in the Church. Though I'd like to think that I would have joined the Church even if I weren't born a member. When I read the Book of Mormon and when I hear the words of Church leaders, they ring true to me-- they really speak to my soul. The principles taught at Church meetings have really blessed my marriage and my relationships with family, friends, coworkers and others.

How I live my faith

I play the organ for church services about every three weeks. I'm also the secretary for our congregation's organization of men ages 18-50. Each month I also visit a few of the members in our congregation to be sure their needs are being met and to share a message about the gospel.
