Hi I'm Grant

I act, write, enjoy the art of teaching, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I've been involved in the theater world since 2005 and show absolutely no signs of stopping. I've been a published poet, an award winning actor, competed for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, and these are all very small and unimpressive achievements that I can make seem bigger with the right wording. I've been a member of the Church for my entire life and have dedicated 2 years of my life to the Lord to serve in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission. I absolutely love teaching other people new things. Whether it be about the Gospel, acting, or offering advice, I am entralled by the art and needed medium of teaching.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for a wide slue of reasons. While I was born in the Church, I didn't have the strongest testimony of it for a while. When I was 16, I had a marvelous revelation about it, strove to be better, and strengthened my resolve only by a little bit. When I finally left the wing of my parents and leaders and close friends in the Gospel to venture off to college, suddenly Church didn't seem so important. Maybe it was lazyness on my part, but the prospect of being on my own revealed to me how important my upbringing was. Church wasn't a huge part of my life, but the teaching and the love of God had stuck with me just enough to help keep me safe from danger and draw the line early on. As the time went on, I began to understand through the help of two very caring home teachers and a loving family what I'd been missing and started putting the Gospel back into my life. The summer after my first semester of college, I'd been found worthy to serve a mission. I am forever thankful for that. Upon returning to school for my 3rd semester, it became very clear that the adversary did not want my happiness or for me to serve. Old tempations arose, but I now knew my duty and resisted. I serve now, pointing others to Christ, showing them how to experience true joy and happiness, and aiding them on their journey back to our loving Father in Heaven. I am a Mormon because the Spirit has confirmed to me that this Church is true. I am a Mormon because it is only in Christ that joy can be felt. I am a Mormon because of rightous parents. I am a Mormon because the teachings of the Church have kept me safe. I am a Mormon because of God's love.

How I live my faith

As earlier mentioned, I currently serve as a missionary for the Church. I haven't held very many callings outside of this one. I believe that the love of God is something that all people should experience, and if I can deliver even a small portion of that love to others, I feel that I have lived my faith and I receive such a joy and gladness from doing so.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, it's not a requirement. The young men, women, and seniors you see out there have done this on their own will and choise and are not payed to do so. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I honestly don't know what I'd do without the Bible. I find so much comfort in it's verses and characters, that life without wouldn't make as much sense. If we only had the Book of Mormon, we'd still need a second witness to it's truthfulness. The Bible does that for the Book of Mormon just as much as the Book of Mormon does that for The Bible. So, yes. Yes we do. Show more Show less
