Hi I'm Devin

I play the Ukulele. I love snowboarding. I play basketball. And I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

What up!! I'm Devin, I play basketball, ride dirt bikes and love to party! I played basketball in High School and loved every minute of it!! We took state twice!! Wahoo!!! I love to be outdoors and do anything that gets my adrenaline pumping, anywhere from rock climbing to jet skiing... bring it on. Riding my dirt cycle is a huge adrenaline rush for me. Nothing better than climbing hills and hittin jumps. In the winter I love to snowboard and Utah is the best place to do that! But most of all I love my savior, Jesus Christ! He is my best friend and my redeemer! I am so grateful for his sacrifice he made for me in the garden of Gethsemane. I love being a MORMON!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but I continue to stay strong because I have come to find out, through prayer, that this is Christ's church restored onto the Earth. I love the Book of Mormon! And I know that it is the word of God! Whenever I read the Book of Mormon I feel the spirit very strongly. The spirit's job is to testify of truth. Just as it says in John 14:26, "The Spirit will teach you all things and bring all things to your rememberance." So when I feel that Holy Spirit as I read, I know that the Book of Mormon is true. One of my favorite stories from the Book of Mormon is King Lamoni's conversion, Alma 17-19. Check it out! The Book of Mormon has really blessed my life and it has helped me through the tough times. And this is why I am a MORMON!

How I live my faith

Serving the Lord in ORYGUN for 2 years!! I haven't had many callings in the church cause I'm still a young buck, but the #1 way I live my faith is through my service and by setting a good example to others. I believe that by helping others is a huge part of being a Latter-Day Saint. I try to look for ways to serve others on a daily basis, just as Christ did during his mortal ministry.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries proselyte because God is preparing people all over the world to receive his gospel. So missionaries go out everyday to search for those who are ready to receive the fullness of the gospel. So if you ever see a missionary in your hometown... stop him or her and ask them about our faith. Their message will bring A LOT of joy to your life. I promise. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Listen to the Missionaries, read the Book of Mormon and ask our Heavenly Father if it is true! Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is simple. It's the authority God has given man to act in His name. The priesthood is needed to perform the saving ordinances such as baptism. If the priesthood hadn't been restored to the earth through Joseph Smith, baptism would not be valid. Say you're driving down the road really fast and you notice an Ice Cream truck has his lights on behind you trying to pull you over... what will you do? probably just keep driving unless you really are in the mood for ice cream. An Ice Cream truck doesn't have the AUTHORITY to give you a ticket. Priesthood is the authority needed for baptism, without the proper authority given from God, baptism is invalid. Show more Show less
