Hi I'm Shaun

I a very active and happy person who loves to play any sport or just be outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a fun loving person. I love to have a good time and laugh a lot no matter what I am doing. I love playing all kinds of games and being active. Hiking, biking, running, and playing sports. I love animals too. I'm big into music. I love all kinds of music, but my favorites are rock and easy listening guitar songs. I have been working on trying to teach myself how to play the acoustic guitar and that has been lots of fun. I enjoy playing what little piano I can when I get the chance. I was born without a left ear. I love my family and friends. I am a missionary. I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but I never fully appreciated it and what peace and happiness it can bring into my life until I was about 16. I became best friends with some boys who went to church when I did, and I saw how happy they were because they knew the church was true. I wanted to know that for myself, so I started to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it and sure enough, I got my answer! I know this church is true because it is the same church that Christ established when he was on the earth, and now it has been restored in its fullness. I know that because I had good friends who inspired me to read the Book of Mormon by being good examples. I then prayed about it and received a witness from Heavenly Father that it was true, that it was his word. Ever since then, I haven't looked back since and I've embraced the church and all the wonderful things it has to offer

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the very best I can to be like Jesus Christ. I smile. I laugh. I help others when I see an opportunity to do so, and I serve in the church. I LOVE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS! I do my best to love others no matter who they are or what they do. I read from the scriptures every day especailly the Book of Mormon. I pray every day. I try to help other people see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring them the true happiness we are all looking for!. I try to find all the good I can in the world. I stand up for what I believe. I try to make the most of the time Heavenly Father has given me. I would say I try to be happy, but I don't have to TRY becasue I have the Gospel! I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for the Gospel. It means EVERYTHING to me! That is why I am serving a two year mission! So I can help others be happy and see how the Gospel can bless and change their lives!

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

We live just like anyone else in the world. We go to work, have families, have struggles and challenges, serve others, know how to be truly happy, love to have a good time and we do all this while staying away from the bad things of the world. There is a saying in the church that says "Be in the world, not of the world". So that's what we do! We are regular people, but we have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness in our lives! The only difference between us and people who aren't members is that we have the Gospel, and because of the Gospel we live in such a way that we can have the Holy Ghost in our lives and feel the love and influence of Heavenly Father. What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

We believe that after we die if we live as Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have asked us to, we will be able to live with them as glorified beings. We have the potential of literally living with God and our families in a state of never ending happiness and joy.  Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that families are ordained by our Heavenly Father. Families can experience the greatest happiness and peace in this life, and in the life after, as they are centered upon the teachings of the the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. Families help us learn and grow and have the peace, love and safety that allow us to escape from the world. We believe that as family members live the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that they can live together for time and all eternity. Families were created by the divine design of our Heavenly Father with both the father and the mother working together to love and support each other as well as their children to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. Families can be strengthened as they read scriptures and pray together, have fun doing activities that they all enjoy, work together to make their home a place where the love of the Savior can be felt, and serve others who may stand in need.  Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The first time that the missionaries visit your home they will discuss the message of the Restoration of the the Gospel of Jesus Christ and why it was necessary for that to happen and what that means for us today. They will discuss how we are all spirit children of a loving Heavenly Father, prophets, Jesus Christ and His apostles, Joseph Smith and the Restoration, The Book of Mormon and how we all can come to know if what we teach is true by receiving revelation for ourselves from God. They will also discuss how our teachings bless individuals and families and how our message is for everyone. If you invite them back, they will discuss doctrines that have been revealed to us that allow us to be able to know why we are here, where we came from and where we are going after we die, how we can obtain peace and happiness in this life and things we need to do in order to live with Heavenly Father and our families in the life to come. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Well first of all, there's nothing secret about the things that go on in the temple. They are however very sacred, and since they are so sacred we don't go into detail about what special things go on inside. Only some members of the church are allowed into the temples because a person has to be worthy to enter. Being worthy is based on obeying the commandments and other aspects of the Gospel. If a person is interviewed by someone in proper authority and is found worthy they receive a temple recommend which allows them to go to the temple as much as they can. The work that goes on in the temple is for the blessing of families on earth and individuals who have passed away. The temple is the best place to be!!! Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are definitely Christians. Mormon is just a nickname that was given to us because we have and study the Book of Mormon, but the real name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Christ is the center of the name of our church just as he is the center of his gospel that we teach in these latter days. We believe in Christ as our living and loving Savior and Redeemer who suffered all so that we might be able to obtain salvation. Show more Show less
