Hi I'm Eric Erickson

I'm a music and outdoor enthusiast, a snowboarder, a redhead with a comical name, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Central Utah. I love backpacking, camping, fishing and many other outdoor activities. Snowboarding is my favorite winter activity in the Rockies. I love music! There is something about going to a live show that just amazes me. There is nothing like going to a concert with a group of friends and supporting a favorite artist or group. My family and I have a great relationship. We love and support each other and try to help each other any way we can. I love sports and all things nerdy. I'm just an average guy doing the best I can in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and try my best to live it. I was raised in the church, but have had many personal experiences that have built my personal faith in the Savior. I have read the Book of Mormon and believe that it, along with the Bible, contains the word of God. I have had to find for myself that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are those of Jesus Christ himself. I have had some hard times where the only place I could turn was God. I know that God truly does answer our prayers. He has carried me in my lowest times, and been there with me at my highest. I know that Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of all mankind. This knowledge is why I am a Mormon. I am so grateful for the love that I have felt in my life and am actively looking for opportunities to share it with others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to do what I know to be right. I actively seek out opportunities to help those around me. Whether it is doing service for someone, or putting an arm around someone who has recently lost a loved one. I have personally felt Christ's love for me and try my best to share it with others. As a youth in the church I worked with many of my peers to serve the area where we lived. I love serving others still today. I try to see those around me as our Father in Heaven sees them. I try to blind myself to the faults in those around me and help them in any way that I can. Living my faith doesn't mean living carefree, it means caring for others first.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Eric Erickson
Temples are like a little window into Heaven. They are very sacred places where we can worship and feel the Spirit of the Lord. In the Temple we have the opportunity to participate in sacred ceremonies that help us to make promises with God. Much of what we do in the Temple is symbolic. Just as the bread and water we partake of each week reminds us of Christ's death for us, many of the things in the temple help us to remember our purpose in God's plan for us. In the temple the ceremonies performed are both for the living and for the dead. We believe that all those who have passed on without learning of the Gospel of Christ will be able to learn and accept these ceremonies performed on their behalf in the life to come.
