Hi I'm Ralae

I grew up in AZ. I was a third grade teacher. Now I am raising my own three children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was fortunate to graduate college with a degree in Elementary Education. I enjoyed my teaching experience, but I love being a wife and mother even more. I'm married to my best friend who is supportive and determined. Sometimes, my children cause me to question my sanity, and most of the time I am sleep-deprived, but serving them, loving them, teaching them, and playing with them brings me such satisfaction and joy. I love trying out new hobbies. I enjoy teaching myself to paint and do simple woodworking crafts. I like photography and writing. I like enjoying outdoors, especially through hiking and jogging. I would love to learn how to sew someday. I am a journal keeper and feel closely connected to those who came before me when I read the journals of my ancestors. There are so many things I want to learn how to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, and I guess I have always believed from the start. Yes, there are times when my testimony is challeneged, and I may not understand all things, but I do know that my Heavenly Father loves His children. That knowledge is enough for me to have faith in Him and to trust in His plan for me. I work each day to live the life that He would have me live because I know that His ways are higher than my ways. The gospel brings me such joy that cannot come from any other source. The gospel answers our questions about who we are, why we're here, and what will happen to us after we die. I do know that Jesus is the Christ. I do know that the prophet, Joseph Smith, saw the Father and the Son and that he did restore the true church upon the land. Living righteously may come with its challenges, but it is the one sure way to bring peace and joy into our lives. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In the church, I have been called to be the primary choristor. I get to teach the children songs that teach them about Jesus and our Father in Heaven. I love this calling. Working closely with the youth has been a great experience. I love teaching them gospel truths in creative and uplifting ways. I know that little children are special in the eyes of our Savior. I have often felt very close to Heaven while singing with the primary. I am also a visiting teacher. I enjoy visiting with the other women in my ward and serving them in various capacities. Amongst visiting teaching and serving as the primary choristor, I have also served in the primary presidency, in scouts, and I have held various teaching positions in Sunday school and Relief Society.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that the family is central to our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness. We believe that God intends for families to be together forever. Sacred ordinances performed in the temple allow our families to be bound together throughout eternity. We believe that a man and a woman joined together in the temple, will be able to be with each other and their children beyond death, if they remain true to their covenants performed in the temple.
