Hi I'm Jared
I love wakeboarding and snowboarding. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
My name is Jared. I grew up in Arizona and still live here today. When I'm not working I love to be at the lake wakeboarding or in the mountains snowboarding. Besides that, I'm a total home body and like to watch movies and play games with friends and family. I'm lucky to have a great family that for the most part lives close by and a good circle of friends.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up in an LDS family and usually enjoyed church growing up. My parents taught me to love the Savior and to turn to God for help and guidance in all things. My parents, grandparents, and siblings have all been good examples to me and I have seen how turning to God has helped them be happy and successful. As I have gotten older, I learned that helping others has given me peace and fulfillment. I have found that the times that I have encouraged others to turn to God or helped them in any way were the times that I have been the happiest; and the times that I have been more focused solely on what I want or when I've been selfish have been the hardest times in life for me. I think the main reason that I'm Mormon is that it has helped me develop a relationship with God. I know that if I turn my heart to Him, He can help me to be so much more than I could be on my own. I also enjoy the friendships of so many people that I have met through church.
How I live my faith
I teach a sunday school class twice a month to other young single adults. Last year, the class topics focused on stories from the Old Testament and I was surprised how many of the stories I was unfamiliar with. This year, we are studying stories from the New Testament and the stories from the Savior's life are among my favorite from the scriptures. I don't love teaching, but I have enjoyed preparing the discussions that we have had in the class.
