Hi I'm Sung-No

I am a Korean Mormon.

About Me

I was borned in South Korea. I grew up and joined the Church in South Georgia. I served a two year mission in Anaheim California Mission. I am a husband and a father, which are my greatest joys. I work to support my family, and when I have time I enjoy variety of recreation. My hobbies are all sports, fly fishing, photography, weight lifting, hiking and camping. I enjoy working with Webelos Cub Scouts.

Why I am a Mormon

My father past away when I was 4 years-old, and my mother past away when I was 12 years-old. At this young age, I started to think about death and purpose of life. Through scripture studies and prayers, I had a strong desire to find a church that I can join. I gave Heavenly Father my sincere prayer to help me to find a church, and in answer to my prayer, I was invited by a friend to attend early morning seminary at his church. That year they were studying The Book of Mormon; I read all of The Book of Mormon and knew it was a word of God. My baptism has been the greatest decision I have made in my life, which led to many other blessings Heavenly Father has planned for me.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working with Webelos Cub Scouts because I can be of an influence to them in their youth. I can help them find and develope their talents, and I can also teach them righteous principles to become a great servant to God, Family, and Country. I also enjoy helping those who are in need. There is no greater satisfaction than giving charity or service.

What is the First Vision?

Before I joined the church, I had a hard time accepting a 14 year-old boy seeing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I struggled with this and decided to ask Heavenly Father for an answer, just as Joseph Smith went into the grove of trees to know which church he should join. In an answer to Joseph Smith's faithful prayer, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared unto him. He was told not to join any of those churches but he would be an instrument in bring about fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In answer to my faithful prayer, I didn't see Heavenly Father nor Jesus Christ, but He sent Holy Ghost to witness unto me the truthfulness of the First Vision. Holy Ghost witness unto me that Joseph Smith saw our Savior, Jesus Christ, in our dispensation of time. This knowledge strenghten my faith in My Savior. I knew even more clearly that Jesus Christ lives because a prophet in our time saw Him. Show more Show less
