Hi I'm Jonathan Wade

I have lived in northeast Ohio all my life. I work at a salt mine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play the guitar and mandolin. I love hiking and camping, and wilderness survival has always been a keen interest to me. I am a mechanical engineering graduate, a degree I earned at the age of 47. I think of mathematics as a second language, and I love solving puzzles and riddles.

Why I am a Mormon

I met the missionaries when they had decided to knock on my door. I was a contented member of the Religious Society of Friends Quaker, and I told them that when they met me. They wanted to know more about my faith, and what I knew about Jesus Christ. I could tell quickly that they were interested in my knowledge and experience, and we rapidly became friends. We met again on many occasions, and I learned a lot about where I came from, why I was here on earth, and where I was heading. The tipping point came when I realized that I had a responsibility to find the truth about Jesus Christ, his Gospel, and his atoning sacrifice. I soon learned how He could be an integral part of my life, bringing happiness and joy to my family and me, now and through the eternities. I will always remember those missionaries, whose close friendship has brought me on a journey of love and understanding.

How I live my faith

I work with church members and the full-time missionaries to bring all of those who follow Christ to a knowledge of the joys and blessings of the Gospel. I pray daily for guidance and support from a loving Heavenly Father.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jonathan Wade
I am a man of science, and we have been encouraged by church leaders to learn knowledge, and pursue intelectual thoughts. The more I learn about the world we live in, the laws of physics, and the processes of living things, I am convinced that the world was not created by accident. I know there is a creator, and there is no contention between this knowledge and the world of science. Anyone who has witnessed a birth of a baby, and watched him/her grow has to wonder about who is conducting this magnificent concert. The laws of science tell us that all things move from order to chaos, unless acted upon by some other force. I know that matter has been brought to order from chaos by priesthood power, and I have learned much about this priesthood power since joining the church, and I will continue to learn.
