Hi I'm Mike

I'm a Mormon in Georgia

About Me

I was married 45 years ago. Our four children kept Vicki & I busy in the first part of our life & now our grandchildren are keeping us busy now. We love being Grandpa and Grandma but wonder where all the time has gone. We remember vividly when our children did some of the things we see our grandchildren do. We love watching our children doing the disciplining now & we get to step in for all the hugs & kisses.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon but my parents weren't active in the church. I decided to go to church on my own. My grandparents gave me a Book of Mormon. I didn't know anything about it but started reading about age 14. I read the promise in Moroni 10:4 & prayed. I was scared I wouldn't get an answer because I was so young but the Lord blessed me with an answer that the Book of Mormon is true. When I was 20, I left on a mission to the British Isles for two years & loved the time I had teaching the gospel.

How I live my faith

In addition to serving the Lord for two years on a mission, I have also been president of our local Rotary Club and president of the Chamber of Commerce. Working in the community is very important to me and there are many rewards in serving others.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Mike
Frequently I have been asked why I chose to be faithful in my church while the rest of my family never participated in church. My answer is I felt, even as a young man, that I had been sent to earth to set the example for the rest of my family. Many times I was able to explain reasons for trails in ones life and help my family to know that the Lord is always ready to listen to them and has never forgotten them. This brought comfort to those I love. Show more Show less
