Hi I'm Garrison

I am a husband, new daddy, and happy as can be and a Mormon!

About Me

I am pretty much an average guy. But being average is not that bad, right! A lot has been changing for me recently. I have been married to the love of my life for about two years and we are super in love with our little surprise daughter that came nine months ago. Yep, the little girl was a bit of a surprise, but my wife and I love being new moms and dads. When I am not at work my wife and I love to be outdoors. It does not matter what it is. I often go camping, backpacking, or hiking; in fact, pretty much any outdoor activity is great. I just love being away from stress of the world and gaining a better appreciation of Gods creations. When I am stuck at home I am working with my hands. I woodwork, lathe, and in general try to fix or dinker with whatever I can get my hands on. I just like creating things and seeing what new thing I can build or fix. As I said, all in all, I am not to complex and that is the way I like it.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I am an average guy I have my own struggle, trials, and temptations. Life is not peachy-keen, and it is not supposed to be that way, life's a test. However, I have seen the Gospel of Christ work in my life and make things easier. I know that the true Gospel of Christ has been restored back to the earth through a prophet and that we have a living prophet of God on the earth that leads The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This knowledge has been developed through pray, personal revelation, time, and small Spiritual experiences with the evidence of this Church, The Book of Mormon. This knowledge of truth and constant direction from God, through his living prophets and revealed scripture, gives me the confidence and peace that I need to face my struggles and bumps in life. When I have had struggles and questions I have taken those things to the Lord and asked him what I should do. Little answers have helped me know what to do and what is right. Most of all, following the principles of the restored gospel, has helped me to have confidence and faith in the Lord and realize that he will take care of me and my little family. The neatest thing is that it works, when I follow the direction given, and live my life in the way the Lord wants me to, He blesses me and things work out!

How I live my faith

Small and simple things are what life is made out of. Often when we look back through a photo album the "everyday pictures" are the most fun to reminisce about. That is because it is the little everyday things we do make up who we are. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the same way. Of course I have big events that show my faith in Christ and His Gospel but those are just steps in the path. The simple things that I strive to do and hopefully I do well at is what makes up my path to my Savior. One of these that I find most enjoyment is simple everyday service. Helping a neighbor with the snow on the walks, being available to help out with a move, or simply stopping to visit someone looking down is what life and a life in Christ is made out of. That is what He did and that is what I strive to do today. The other small thing that I think makes the biggest difference is being kind to those in my family. Kind is different then just nice. It is caring and loving and giving selflessly. This means giving up my pride and my desires to help others. I am not perfect but I feel that showing love in my marriage through kind words and actions make a man of God or not. I am not perfect at any of these things. But through our Savior I do my best.
