Hi I'm Matt

I'm Lisa's Husband.

About Me

I'm a 32 year old medical student with 3 children and an amazing wife. I love the east, miss the west and long for the south. I wish the northeast had the mountains of the west with year-round golf. I hope to play under 80 this year and do it with a happy wife. I very much enjoy spending time with my children and wife either traveling, playing the wii together or just hanging around the house.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I'm convinced that the gospel taught by the LDS church provides the happiest most stable way of life. Outside of any and all relationships I enjoy, I know who I am and what my purpose is in this life. The more I come to understand and know God and his son Jesus Christ, the more I understand the teachings and principles of the Mormon church and that this IS how God works and deals with humankind. The nuances contained in the teachings of the Mormon church speak of and represent elements of His nature and character. This I know by way of the Holy Ghost. Therefore, to be closer to God and Jesus Christ I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I wake up in the mornings and read the scriptures as often as I can and then pray with my wife. I go to work or school and try to live and act according to what I have been taught. I come home each night and have dinner with my family around a dinner table and we discuss the days events and things we learned at school. Following dinner we read from the scriptures as a family and pray as a family. We all take turns saying the prayer. Occasionally in the evening I will go out with missionaries to have discussions with members or people wanting to learn about the church. Most often I spend time after the kids are down and the kitchen is clean studying medicine or reading. On the weekends we make an effort once a month to go the temple about 2-3 hours away. On Sunday, we have church at 9:00 am and we do our best to be on time every week. Lisa and I both have meeting every week on Sunday or on Saturday or even during the week for our different assignments known as callings in the church. Lisa ultimately puts much more time in because she the president of the Women's organization within our congregation of the church.
