Hi I'm Adam Pett

I grew up in Utah. I go to USU. I´m on a mission in Mexico, I play the bagpipes, and I love Scotland with a passion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Adam and I have been a Mormon all my life. I am from Utah, I love sports, I am in a bagpipe band, I am serving a mission to Torreon Mexico. I will attend BYU after my mission and am excited to serve the Lord. I am from a family of 8 and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

At first, I was just a Mormon because everyone in my family was. I believed in the things people taught me, but I didn't really know if it was actually true. So one night I read the Book of Mormon and prayed more intently and sincerely than I ever had before and I received an answer that I cannot deny, that this is the true church of our Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I love the Spirit I feel when I go to church, partake of the Sacrament, and when I invite people to come unto Christ. I love this church and I believe in everything it is and stands for. I believe that we still receive guidance from God in these days, as people always have since the world began. The Church of Jesus Christ was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Through the power of God, he translated the sacred and ancient record that the ancient people that lived in the Americas wrote. This record is known as The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know this is true. I know God´s plan for us and how I can return to live with Him, Jesus Christ, and my family for eternity.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday, I have attended seminary courses, I have helped with service, and as of right now, I am on a mission to invite people to come unto Christ and hear His restored Gospel.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Adam Pett
Since the beginning of the world, God has called Prophets to guide us, like Noah, Moses, Isiah, and many others. Jesus was one of these persons called by God to guide us, but is our Savior and Redeemer as well. He established His church with prophets and apostles who have the priesthood, or authority to act in God´s name. After Christ suffered and died for us, His apostles continued to preach the Gospel, but the people didn´t believe in them either and were killed or fell away from the truth. This time in known as an apostasy; when God takes away the authority to act in His name because the people are not worthy to have it. After many years, God once again reached out to us in love and called Joseph Smith to restore the true Church of Jesus Christ with the authority of God. Through God´s power, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon for us in these days. The reason why we need the Book of Mormon is simple, it is because God is still working for the salvation of man. He has given us more guidance through the Book of Mormon and present day prophets. With the Bible, Book of Mormon, and latter day revelation, we know how we can return to live with God and Jesus Christ with our families forever. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Adam Pett
Some people might ask, why don't Mormons ever drink alcohol, coffee, or tea? I know alcohol is bad, but why coffee and tea? The answer comes in a modern-day commandment received by Joseph Smith called The Word of Wisdom. In this commandment, the Lord states that we should not consume tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, or illegal drugs. The Lord states His reasons why He has prohibited the use of these substances, but more than anything, we should obey Him in whatever He commands us to do. With His infinite knowledge, He knows what is good and bad for us. He tries to help us, He wants us to succeed. He gave this commandment of The Word of Wisdom for our physical, mental, AND spiritual health. That's why He gives us commandments, to help us. Even if we don't understand a certain commandment that He gives us, we should have the faith strong enough to obey Him, no matter what He asks for us to do. Show more Show less
