Hi I'm Connie

I'm a Mormon. I 'm a true Southerner and I love to volunteer with children.

About Me

Even though I was born in California I came to Georgia when I was nine months old. I was raised in Atlanta by a very Southern Dad and a Western Mom, having the best of both worlds. With family on both coasts I was privileged to travel a great deal of the United States by the time I was grown. I have been married for 48 years and am the mother of 7, grandma of 24 & great-grandma of 2. I love working with children and volunteer at my grandchildren's elementary school. I work with children in the 2nd and 4th grades who need a little help in reading or math. Sometimes I just get to be grandma and find out what is bothering the little ones. I love to read and travel the world. I read about a place and then get the urge to go see it. It is always more fun to go with some of the children and see the wonder in their eyes. I have been to all 50 states and several countries. I have a grandson who was born with a defective heart and needed a transplant when he was born. As a family we wanted to give back to the hospital and help other children in his situation. We now have a foundation that raises money for the heart center of the local children's hospital.

Why I am a Mormon

Forty-five years ago our second little boy was born and only lived three hours. The religion we belonged to at the time gave us no hope of being with him in the eternities. Through the help of the missionaries we learned that families can be forever. Family is everything and through Christ's Atonement we can have ours forever. I know that I have to keep my part and do what is right but the hope is there in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I teach 11yr olds at Church. I have served in many places in the Church during my life. For many years I taught an early morning religious class to high school students. They met at my home evey morning before school for a lesson and scripture study. It gave them a good start to the day and me too.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Connie
We believe that all mankind will know of Christ and his blessings. We feel that it is our responsibility to tell our neighbors. We send our young sons and daughters out into the world to proselyte to people who don't have neighbors to teach them Show more Show less
