Hi I'm Richard

I'm a mechanical engineering college student. I love the outdoors. I play the bassoon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning how things work. Discovering the world around me has been my life since I was young. Studying mechanical engineering at college seems to just come naturally to me. Exploring the harmony of nature is the same. I enjoy anything that takes me out of doors, but a few favorites are ultimate frisbee, cycling, disk golf, canoeing, fishing, and archery. I've also played the bassoon for eight years now and the bari sax for three.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of the Book of Mormon. Reading that book changed my life and continues to do so. As I've read from its pages the Holy Spirit has enlightened me. I have received answers to prayers, insights into the past and the future, guidance on where to take my life, and comfort when I needed it sorely. Most importantly, my testimony of the Savoir Jesus Christ has come from reading the Book of Mormon. It is truly a beautiful and powerful testament of the divinity of Jesus Christ. My faith in Christ has been built by the Book of Mormon thus I know that it is from Him and that it is holy scripture. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a college student I attend a local congregation of other young adults like myself. Once every month I have the opportunity of teaching a Sunday school class. Really, it is more like leading a discussion. I get to introduce the topic and then learn from my peers. I have learned so much from their comments and I enjoy the opportunity to share my faith and testimony with them. It always strengthens me.
