Hi I'm Ashlee

I've lived on both coasts with a few stops between. I love family and friends who are spread throughout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college a few years ago and am working while trying to decide what career path to take that I will enjoy. In the meantime, I love cooking, reading good books, decorating cakes, watching thunderstorms, singing, and I could probably live in snow year round... as long as I could take a quick vacation to see a New England fall every once and awhile. I love spending time with my family and friends and am most happy when we are all gathered together.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon all my life, but I have had to learn the truth of the things I was taught just as any one does. There is a scripture in John 7:17 that says, " If any man will do his will (meaning God), he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." I have taken this challenge. I have done the things that have been commanded. I have attended church, read scriptures, refrained form alcohol and cigarettes, served those around me, attended the temple, and prayed and as I have done so, l have found a peace and happiness that can not be found else where. That peace and the knowledge that I have of a loving Heavenly Father who is always willing to listen to my prayers gives me a confidence as I face the challenged that life holds. A confidence because I know that I am not facing the challenges alone. There are great blessings, both temporal and spiritual, that come from being a Mormon and following His gospel.

How I live my faith

I strive to live as Christ would have me live, to emulate him. He taught us to have compassion, so I try to have compassion for those around me. He taught us to keep his commandments so I strive to be honest in all I do, to attend church each Sunday and do things on that day to set it apart from other days of the week and make it holy. He taught us to pray to our Father in Heaven and read and study His words in the scriptures we have so I strive to do so each day.
