Hi I'm Bruce Weston

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Arizona, lived for a while in California, and now live in Utah. I'm the second oldest of five children. I was able to serve a mission in Brazil, which I loved, my oldest brother is currently serving a mission in Europe. I enjoy most sports especially badminton. I like to draw and hike and look at nature. I like music and helping others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God lives. I have felt his presence and seen the affect of his love in my life and the lives of others. I was born to a family active in the LDS church, and it has brought me nothing but joy. I have read the Book of Mormon and pondered and prayed to know that it was true. I have felt the Holy Ghost touch my heart confirming the truth of this faith. I have come closer to my Savior Jesus Christ because of his church, which he restored to the earth through his prophet Joseph Smith. Also every time I hear President Monson (the current president of the church) or read his words, I can feel the spirit confirm what is said to my heart; as do the words and teachings of all the apostles. I feel that what they say carries great weight and the authority which they bear to teach the gospel is simple and profound, as the Master's teachings. I'm also a Mormon because this church is governed by God and presided over by servants he has called himself, in contrast to the many thousands perhaps millions of churches which continue to multiply in our time.

How I live my faith

I read the scriptures and pray for help and guidance from my Heavenly Father. I try to be a good son, brother, friend. I try to work hard and be a blessing to others, I still have a long way to go on that. I go to church, I try to share what I know about Jesus Christ and His gospel with others.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Bruce Weston
Joseph Smith was a poor and simple God-fearing farm boy, who prayed to God the Father to know which church to join. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and answered Joseph's question, telling him that none of the churches on the earth at that time were the same church that Jesus Christ established while He was on the earth. Over the next few years Joseph Smith was called to be God's prophet and restore the church of Jesus Christ to the earth, he translated an ancient record by the power of God and that record is the Book of Mormon. Joseph was persecuted and eventually martyred because of this. He sealed his testimony of Christ and the truth of these things with his blood. Just as many of the prophets and apostles of old had done anciently.    Show more Show less
