Hi I'm Michael

I am a sports enthusiast, love soccer. I enjoy training/exercising hard and helping others get fit and healthy. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love sports, exercise, nutrition, and adventure. I grew up pretty much all over the place; my father was in the Air Force. I lived in Germany for close to eight years. There, I went to middle school and graduated from Ramstein American High School. Three months after I graduated I left on my mission; I served in the great Texas San Antonio Mission. After my mission I went home to Maryland, where I met the love of my life. We were married for time and all eternity in the Washington D.C. Temple. Currently, I am a college student pursuing a degree in business administration with a concentration in computer information systems. I am in the process of following in the footsteps of my father and getting ready to join the Air Force. I love music, mainly listening to it and finding sweet bands that create amazing musical fusion. Some of my favorite bands include Third Eye Blind, AWOLNATION, Imagine Dragons, Morning Parade, F.U.N., Kings of Leon, and the list goes on. I do, kind of, play the guitar but it’s nothing serious, maybe a few cords and that’s it. I am a diehard soccer fan though, I have played the game since before I was born and have played at every level since. Even though my schedule is busy I always find time for my family. I love the time I get to spent with them. My best memories are ones where I was doing something with my family whether it was having dinner, watching a movie, or taking a vacation. They will always be my number one, especially my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I chose to be Mormon. No one told me I had to be one, I chose for myself. I can say I "grew up" in the church because my parents where baptized when I was six months old, but just because I "grew up" in the church didn't mean I was going to be a Mormon for the rest of my life. I had to go on my own personal journey to realize the truthfulness of the restored gospel. I can honestly say it was when I was a teenager preparing to go on mission when I had a reality check. Because I had always been taught of Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon, but I was kind of living off the testimony of my parents and church leaders. I realized I needed to know for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was in fact the true church, like I had always been taught. So I started my own personal spiritual journey and what can I say, the Lord opened my eyes and showed me how the gospel had blessed my life up to that point and gave me hope that as I lived and kept His gospel close to my heart my future would be richly blessed as well. As I personally read The Book of Mormon my confused and somewhat immature teenage mind became clear and knew and still know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly our Lords kingdom here on earth. I know Joseph Smith truly was a prophet of God called to restore the true and living gospel to a lost and confused world. I know The Book of Mormon is the true word of God translated by Joseph Smith. I love what Gordon B Hinkley said, "The gospel's true, what else matters?" Amen.

How I live my faith

I remember when came home from my mission, my mission president asked me to make a promise never to stop going to church and being faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ. And I can say now that I have been home I am 100% keeping that promise. If I was asked the church assignment I loved the most was when I was teaching the 6 and 7 year old's with my wife in the primary. Teaching in the primary truly shoes you how simple yet profound the gospel really is. I absolute love the Gospel and what it has done for me and my family. I have long believed that the best way to show people what you stand for is the live what you believe. I live by the quote, "Preach My Gospel, us words if needed." I strive every day of my life to live the gospel in all I do, exemplifying the life of Christ through mine.
