Hi I'm Ian

I'm a Mormon. And I know how magnets work.

About Me

In no particular order, I enjoy volleyball, tennis, camping, video games and I'm slowly getting into golf. I've been married to my wife for 2 years now and we have one child. I'm in my second year of practice as an attorney and I like my job most of the time. I've been a member of the church most of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was six years old. As I was growing up and going to church with my parents, I always felt like it was right, but it wasn't until I got to college and had to decide for myself whether I was going to continue going to church that I found the real value in it. I'm still a Mormon today because I know that God wants me to be happy. Everything He does and everything He tells us to do is carefully calculated to bring about our ultimate happiness. He has established this church to help us find happiness in this life and in the next life.

How I live my faith

At church, I teach a group of youth ages 12-18. It's very rewarding, but it's also poetic justice because I know I gave some of my teachers a hard time when I was that age. I'm also a hometeacher, assigned to periodically visit a few specific families and individuals. I like hometeaching because it's a way to make sure everyone in the church is taken care of, physically and spiritually. I always appreciate it when my own hometeachers visit. Outside of church, I just try to be a good guy. I know that God's commandments still apply today, and it's just as important for me to obey them as it was for the people in bible times. I also try to spend as much time with my family as possible.
