Hi I'm Sadi

I believe Jesus and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up playing sports 24/7. After high school I went to college in Boston, Massachusetts where I met my husband. We moved to Stanford, California where I completed my Bachelors degree in Special/Elementary Education through WGU. We now live in Burbank, California. I have 3 kids that keep me busy and constantly remind me how little I know about everything :)

Why I am a Mormon

I really became a member of this church when I was 16. Prior to my real conversion, I was living two lives. I went to church on Sundays and helped out when I was asked but at school and with friends I chose to do unrighteous things. I eventually saw this dilemma and knew I had to choose one way or the other. Being raised in the church, I went to my bishop and asked what I should do. Although his only advice was to step back from the situation and look at each life I was living, I knew that night that I wanted to follow God. The following months were the hardest of my life. I lost trust from my family and friends- trust that I didn't deserve. I felt so alone. It was during that time that I learned the only person that knew what I was going through was Christ. I knelt down every night pleading to him to help me gain the trust of my family and do what is right. And that's why I'm Mormon. This church has taught me since I was young that Christ lives and has atoned for me. I am who I am today because I was able meet Christ in those dark hours.

How I live my faith

In the church I welcome people who move into the congregation. Once I find out they are within my specific church boundaries a contact them, take them helpful resources and goodies and get to know them better. In addition, I like to bake goods. These are used for community and church events. Mostly, I try to be real and honest with people about who I am. I think that's how Christ lived his faith and I'd like to follow his example.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

The great thing about being Mormon is the fact that no one tells you how to live but only encourages you to be the best you can be. Yes, there are "rules" (I prefer to look at them as logical practices) such as the law of chastity, the law of tithing, and the word of wisdom. However, apart from the essential core beliefs, Mormons can be whoever they want to be: lawyers, hippies, dancers, athletes, salesmen. Mormons encourage daily prayer and scripture study (also logical practices) along with charity, kindness, and honesty. In short, Mormons live freely under the commandments of God. Show more Show less
