Hi I'm Chelsey Ann

I'm a daughter, a sister, a friend, a runner, a Minnesotan, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Chelsey Fjeldsted and I have been called to serve in the California, Arcadia mission! I am 20 years old and had been attending BYU-Idaho before my mission and I was working for Target since I was 17. I love running and just ran my first half-marthon with my dad before I left. I love people. I love my family and am so blessed to have the wonderful family that I do. My siblings are my best friends and I look up to them so much. I also have so many wonderful friends that I have been blessed with and I am so grateful to all of them. I can feel the Lord's love for me through others around me and when I serve others too. I will be in California for a year a half serving the Lord as a full time missionary. I love every minute of it and I'm grateful to be a part of His work.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and I know that this is their church on this earth today. I don't just think that it's good, or nice, or what have you- I know. I know because I can see how it has changed and shapes my life. There is a quote by C.S. Lewis that I love that explains this better than I can, "I believe in Christ like I believe in the sun- not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else." The more I live the gospel and understand it the more peace and clarity comes into my life. I have more gratitude in my heart and I can see God's hand in my life better. God lives and loves us and has given us all the tools to become like him and one day return unto him. It can be frustrating for people to not know everything there is. The gospel doesn't provide answers to everything and every mystery in the whole world written out but we have all the tools we need. He loves us and has blessed us with the power of prayer to communicate with him and with scriptures so we can read his words and allow him to communicate with us if we listen. We don't need to know all the answers today because if we did what would be the point of this earth life if we already knew everything? What kind of a test would this life be if we already knew all the answers? What would faith be for? We need to learn to trust God and trust in his plan and design and have faith in him every step of the way everyday. We need to ask in humble prayer what it is he wants from us. And all of these things are why I am a Mormon. I can't think of any other way I would want to live but by faith and trust in God and the comfort I feel when I grow close to him and know that I am living the way he would want me to and to know that on this earth I can become more like him and our Savior and someday live with them and my family forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the things I know that will bring me closer to God and his son, Jesus Christ daily. There is no substitute for saying your prayers or reading your scriptures or going to the temple. When I do these seemingly simple things the spirit is brought to my life and I feel closer to my Savior. I live my faith by always sticking to what I believe and not wavering. I also live my faith by looking for opportunities to serve those around me because I know that is what Jesus did while He was on this earth and would have me do now- help others feel of His love. I share this gospel with those around me when I can so they can also know like I do that we all have a loving Heavenly Father that we can one day live with again.
