Hi I'm Kristen

I'm a stay at home mother. I've learned Mandain Chinese as a Missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived abroad in Taiwan on two separate occassions. Once as a Missionary and the second time a s an English Teacher to children from 3-14. I studied Mandarin Chinese at University and graduated with a BA in Chinese and a BA in Asian Studies. Now I am a stay at home mother. My children are my pride and joy. As you may notice I take on the hard things in life. I also like the outdoors, camping, hiking, and fourwheeling.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were found by the missionaries. They joined the church when I was young. I have grown up in the church in the east where the number of members is few. As I have learned about the gospel of Jesus Christ I have had many experiences that helped me know that He is my Lord and Savior. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint brings me peace and joy. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that life has a meaning and a purpose. I know that our Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to be happy. The book of Mormon is another tesitment of Jesus Christ and it is true. We have a living prophet and Thomas S. Monson is our prophet this day. My life would be so different and meaningless without the Gospel. I know this Church is True.

How I live my faith

My church is one of voluntary service. As a result I have had opportunities to work in a variety of callings. I have served as a teacher for the women's group called Relief Society. I also have worked with the children from ages 18 months to 12 years. I have been given many opportunities to serve in ways that have used some of my natural skills, other times I am asked to serve in ways that I feel completely inadequate. The amazing thing is that when you are serving the Lord he magnifies your strengths and strengthens your weaknesses. One of my favorite assignments I have is as a Visiting Teacher. I have a few ladies I am assigned to visit each month. This is a great way for me to meet new people. The hardest thing is making initial contact with someone I haven't spoken to before. As I visit and make an effort to get to know someone I am always amazed how they help me feel more connected and a part of a greater Sisterhood. I have learned much from women of all ages and stages in life.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Kristen
I have a know that God continues to lead and guide his people. I am blessed to listen to General conference twice a year when I can hear directly from the Prophet and apostles. I know that God reveals his word through his living prophet and that he gives me personal revelation to confirm that the words of the prophet are true and from God. I have felt the holy spirit testify to me of the truth of the prophet many times. Show more Show less
