Hi I'm Joe

I live in California. I am a retired grocery clerk. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful woman, have 5 children and 13 grandchildren. I love to bodyboard, snowboard, backpack, kayak, and garden. I especially love doing these things with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I inherited the legacy from my great grandfather who joined the church in Scotland. I have attended the church all my life, but had to become converted myself just as Jesus told Peter. My testimony grew as I learned gospel truths. Some of those truths are, eternal marriage, and that salvation is available to all that accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all will have an opportunity to accept or reject the gospel either in this life or the life to come. I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. No other church can answer this with clarity of the gospel as taught in this church. It has enlightened my understanding and as Peter said "Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has the words of eternal life.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church in positions ranging from Scouting to administrative councils. We do not have a paid clergy in the church. All members serve and minister to one another. One way we do that is by visiting other members in their home each month providing fellowship and helping them with any needs that they have. Even though we do this as a duty we serve in love and become fast friends with them. I try to be an example to those around me. My friends and neighbors know that I am a Mormon. They hold me to a higher standard because of it.
