Hi I'm Matthew

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love basketball, taekwondo, korean food, and I am Mormon! I grew up in McClenllanville, SC in a Baptist church. My great grandfather, grandfather, and uncles were baptist ministers. My family thought I would become a Baptist minister also. Graduated from high school in 1971, and I joined the military which started my life. My first duty assignment was South Korea where I served for 13 months. During that 13 months I met my future wife. I came back to the states in 1974 with my wife and son. I was stationed in Kansas and my 2nd child was born in 1978. A year later I went back to Korea for another 13 month tour. After finishing that tour I came to Ft Jackson, SC. I came in contact with SFC John R. Jones, who was African-American, and also was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He introduced me to the restored gospel and to the Church. September of 1980 I was baptized. I have been a member for over 30 years. I served in 3 different bishopric. I have been a temple ordinance worker for 5 years. I have been 2 times on the high council.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel makes a bad man good and good man better. It helps me to draw closer to Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith thru service to others because I know when I am servicing others I am only in the service of my God.
