Hi I'm Jennifer

I love looking for and finding the silver lining! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 4. I work part-time teaching university classes and focus the rest of my time serving and managing family life. I love to be with my family. I love working with my husband and we enjoy hiking, biking, watching movies, and helping our neighbors. We are discovering the joys of being grandparents to our sweet little ones. I have also really enjoyed collaborating with my parents, aunts and uncles as we work on sharing treasured family photos, journals and stories. Family is what it's all about!

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors joined the church many many years ago. But there came a time that I needed to know if the church's teachings were true. I had been taught from the time I was young about Jesus Christ. When I was about 17 I made the effort to study, learn and to ask my Heavenly Father if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. He answered my prayer and that's why I continue to be a faithful Mormon. My belief in and knowledge of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father's plan for me is what motivates me in all that I do.

How I live my faith

The bulk of what I do focuses on serving others. I have been teaching English classes in our community and I love to see how my students work so hard, practice and then courageously use their English skills at their job, with new friends or in the opportunities THEY have to serve at church and in the community! I love hearing their success stories! To me, serving others is the way we can become most like our Savior. It draws us out of our comfort zone, helps us to be understanding of others' challenges and helps us truly love one another.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

You know what? My oldest daughter served a mission. One of her favorite things to do was to chat with and answer people's questions on Mormon.org! It's a super low-key way to get some good solid answers. The nearest church building location can be forwarded to you or you can be put in touch with the missionaries in your area if you prefer face to face teaching! She chatted with someone from our home state. This person wanted to visit church on Sunday so she was able to contact the local missionaries who in turn contacted a young man in the local congregation to work out a ride for him. That young man happened to be my son! Small world! Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I love that through personal study, pondering, and living the teachings of "Mormonism" and asking Heavenly Father in humble prayer, that anyone can know that the Mormon church is the true church of Jesus Christ. Each person is unique and will have his/her own experience. The full-time missionaries have the special privilege of teaching interested individuals the gospel in clear and simple terms. There's no expected time line. Learning and living the gospel comes at your own pace. Show more Show less
